Cavani to snub City
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/321267/Edinson-Cavani-to-snub-Manchester-City/
I know it's only the Star, but I actually do believe we're gonna miss out on him.
Iscos signature will be seen as a priority if this happens imo.

RM cannot afford to buy both. They will get Cavani and we will get Isco. Simples.

Lets hope so and let's also hope Bayern don't start making too much noise about Isco either Dawg.

Re: Cavani to snub City
Let them have Cavani, we'll have Isco, we've got Sergio, Dzeko, Tevez if he stays, maybe bring on some youth seeing as we are pushing them in the new Pellegrini era?
If we need a striker, lets not overdo it, not with A red in the Bed at Uefa gunning for us!

Ah, bollocks to him. He's pulling the same stuff that Hazard did and look where that got him! I can't be arsed with all the will-he-won't-he crap. And when he finally goes to Madrid, it'll be City in Crisis all over again... can't wait.

Tbh leo, i'm also glad we missed out on him, if only for the fact we won't have shelled out £55m+ on someone that could well flop.

Precisely. He plays in the Italian league and we all know Italians just can't defend.

Re: Cavani to snub City
I don't think it is him playing the will I won't I card. at this moment he is in Brazil playing in the confederations cup for Uruguay. Unlike Hazard last season who was appearing on every show going saying this that and the other. His agent appears to have been quiet also which suggests to me that de Laurentis is the mouthpiece trying to drum up as much as possible for Napoli.
I don't really believe we have missed out yet as I don't think anything concrete has been put to cavani yet. One thing about Madrid is they will have to offload a fair few players if they are to sign Bale for 85 mill Cavani for 55 mill Isco for 30 mill. With a skint Spanish govt it seems an awful lot of debt.???

Re: Cavani to snub City
Do you think the Spanish government care about the debt? If they did, they'd have pulled the plug on RM and Barca two years ago.
And if this is all Dino DeLboy's doing then I hope nobody buys Cavani and he gets left with a wantaway who won't turn up. That'll teach him to be a twat!

I think they will have to care about the debt because of the situation in Europe no one will or can afford to bail out stricken countries without watertight assurances that the loans will be to service and stabilize the countries infrastructure and not spending it on the whim of a football club.

Actually, that's a good point, I hadn't thought about that.

Re: Cavani to snub City
What is it with EUFA?Why are they allowing Real Madrid to canvas everyone who wants a transfer, plus those who dont. They have publicly courted Bale,Isco,Cavani and anyone else they fancy, and they are being allowed to get away with it.That is 200 million euros they need to find if they buy those three alone, and I thought they were broke??

Re: Cavani to snub City
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's ok to comment/compliment a player you like isn't it?
And is it definitely the club carrying out the comments and not various agents and journalists?

Re: Cavani to snub City
So what you are saying is that it is okay for a club to approach a player at another club and tell him that his shirt is already hung in the dressing room for him??

Re: Cavani to snub City
I don't think anyone has said they are approaching him as such - is there just a rumour that RM are interested in him?
There are also rumours we are as well. With been linked with about 20 different players - doesn't necessarily mean we are doing anything wrong or approaching these players.

Re: Cavani to snub City
Watching how Barca and Spain play, we don't really need a striker. All those attacking midfielders floating around create havoc and openings for each other. If we get Isco as well, I can see us creating at least 50% more chances next season. I reckon we'll score well over 80 goals at least.

Re: Cavani to snub City
I'd hope so, Dawg. But I take your point, didn't Spain win a major competition with just one registered striker who spent almost the entire competition on the bench?
