I can't see us playing much of our first team tonight.  I dare say they're all going to take a well earned rest and hopefully preparing for a tough game a week tomorrow.

We're playing a Wigan side that has lost it's manager and most of their key players over the summer and isn't exactly setting the Championship on fire right now, I dare say they might want to not try too hard in this game.

Plus, you know, it's only the League Cup...

According to Coyne - he has to rest half of his 1st team as they will have had 3 games in 6 days.

We could probably send out the entire EDS and win this one, then.

Hope we're not sayin "typical City" tomorrow morning then     .

I'm looking forward to see some of the youngsters.  I still think the likes of Pants, Lescott, Milner and Jovetic will be playing but it is a good chance for some of the others.  Hope there is a good crowd still for it though, with tickets only £15.

I think MP has to play the first teamers who don't get games (Pants, Lezza, Micah, Jovetic, Milner etc.

I'd be happy with 8 first teamers and 3 young lads and get a 3 goal lead then blood a couple more kids.

Decent enough team as there are several players who could have played against utd.  Good to see Lopez getting his chance.

Bit disappointed not to see any more young lads there. This should have been the ideal match to give them 10-20 minutes.

I agree Dawg.  When we started bringing subs on and they were all nailed on first teamers, it seemed a bit wrong somehow.

Still, a comfortable five nil victory and could've been a whole lot more.

I think at this stage of the season, all of the senior players are getting game time.
Hit a few injuries later in the year or players needing rests we should be better to blood some more young uns,..

Even to get on for the last 5 minutes would have been something for Cole or Hwala. Why did Denis Suarez leave?

That and he didn't play.

I still can't understand why he didn't.  Such a waste of a talented kid.

He looked well at home against wolves in the carling cup (or whatever it was called two years ago) when we won 5-2 away. I thought we'd have him and Silva pulling the strings in midfield for years to come.
