Returning crocks
Just seen the highlights of the EDS in the Manchester Senior Cup against Rochdale.
Dimechelis - the good and the bad. Lost the ball and just ambled back. He wasn't bothered at all and Rochdale could have scored from that mistake. Had that been Lescott, we'd be jumping up and down. Then he plays a wonderful throughball, with the outside of his foot, leading to a good goal. Lescott cannot do that.
Rodwell looked good and was in the box spurning 2 or 3 good chances. He misses so many good chances, but at least he is there. If only he could finish well, he'd be bagging 15 goals a season and he'd be a definite starter for me.

I think he can score 15 a season.....but he'll never get the games.

Re: Returning crocks
I think Demichellis was just there to see how the injury stood up and to get a bit of game time under his belt. The fact he has not played in any capacity for city yet let alone English football might suggest he will be rusty to say the least. I guess it is easy for us to be critical but as his fitness builds up and he gets game time then we will be in a better position to judge.

Rusnak, for me......is still the one shining star in that team with Lopez.

Re: Returning crocks
The full back Facey has just got England recognition & played very well against Bayern he too is a good prospect. A lot of the lads appear to have the ability but the step up is quite a gap, pozo is another coming back from injury who may well make the grade. On another note I see Vladimir Weiss is a regular in the olympiakos side, He was one I really thought would make it with City. The other what might have been would be sturridge if his greed had not got in the way.

Re: Returning crocks
I'm not too sure about Weiss, but he was good enough at the time he was coming through. He would have had to keep improving to stay in the team and maybe he could have stepped up.
Sturridge always looked like having that little bit extra, something special. Alas, money was his downfall.

Agree...think Weiss was a year or 2 too early......Sturridge was down to pure greed on his and his parents/advisors......part.Topdawg wrote:I'm not too sure about Weiss, but he was good enough at the time he was coming through. We have some seriously good EDS players...and good to see 2 or 3 of them have gone on loan this week.
We had 3 U18's in the England 11 this week as well.....so it's looking very good for the future...we just need to get them integrated onto the first 11 for Cup games, over the next 12 months.

Re: Returning crocks
Sturridge is a bit of a selfish player - he always goes for the glory shot - when he should pass to somebody in front of goal in a better position to score. He's also a cocky bugger and thinks a lot of himself. He's doing better at Liverpool though than he did at Chelsea.
