Gundogan has dislocated his kneecap. Laporte's leg is in tatters. But we'll still buy the pair of them for big money.

Shades of Rocky Santa Cruise...Pay big money for crocks who hardly play and then sell them for bargain basement money.

It's a big risk to buy these guys unless we have alternatives just in case. We may be able to get by with the Laporte signing if we are getting Stones, bringing Denayer back and keeping Kompany and maybe one other.

If we are relying on Gundogan, that's far more risky. And he's had a bad couple of years with injury.

If we don't have to pay anything like what's been quoted, then I'd still get him and use the leftovers to get someone else just in case.

Or get someone else who isn't injured or had bad injuries

If Kompany was on the market & not at City we would probably pay 40 million to sign him Mad

I agree. Gundogan was reportedly £18m which isn't too bad in this day and age - worth a gamble dependent on his injury prognosis. £39.2m for Laporte...I'd still pay that and get Stones for £45m.

Bin off Kompany, MDM and Otamendi, keep Mangala and Denayer as back up.

2 new full backs for Kolorov and Zaba (though I'd love to keep him around the club).

Another 2 MF's for TLMLF and Navas plus one more striker to replace Bony - and keep Kelechi and Aguero.

If Pep can bring Llahm Alaba Muller & Lewandowski that wd be v helpful
Stones can't even get in a shit Everton side so more like 25 & I'd have him
Gundogan has a 'serious' injury so we should leave well alone

remember that players like vardy, kante and mahrez were playing lower league footy 1-2 seasons back and many people would have them like a shot if they could. So Stones may actually be very good, just not shown it this season.

Yeah but all those players cost peanuts so if they were cack it wouldn't have mattered much
Stones will be 40-50 million & has been cack at Everton so why risk it

Any players can get injuries at any time it really is pot luck. Look at Gazza all them years back had that really serious injury but still went on and played another 8 years at the top pretty much injury free. Bojinov springs to mind along the same lines. Van nistelrooy had a serious injury before united bought him & had to wait a season but it did not do them any harm. It maybe these injuries to laporte & Gundogan are one offs in terms of unrelated to previous injuries. Kompany has had Calf problems all season but weds was a groin injury?
