Team v Sunderland
Can't afford any slip-ups this time round, especially with the Arse 5pts clear. Here's my team to start:

Micah......DeMichellis.....Nasty....Clichy
...........Yaya.....Fernandinho
Milner................................Silva

^ That team. They handed CSKA a spanking and destroyed Norwich. Sunderland are worse than both. I want 10 from them at the weekend!shakencity wrote:Can't afford any slip-ups this time round, especially with the Arse 5pts clear. Here's my team to start:

Sorry mate, not sure what to make of that comment. I was agreeing with your suggested team as being the one we need to play to ensure we get a result, and hopefully a decent one. I didn't think I'd even addressed the past history at SoL. Or maybe I did. I don't know any more...

Oh, my bad mate.....my heads still mashed from being battered by you lot yesterday .
Suprised no-one carried on at me after seein i excluded Nasri , tbh, i do expect him to play, either inplace of Milner or for an injured Silva.

Not up for, not in it, defence as bad as normal! Why the fuck can we not play away from home! Pissing me right off now.
Garcia fuck off out my club, you are not good enough to play in the EDS team

The engineer? He hasn't a clue, 1st or 2nd away game maybe but we are now in Nov for Christ's sake.
Will take a point at the moment but just cannot see us scoring.

Playing for top 4 now! Spineless wankers the lot of them.
Well played Sunderland. Maybe seeing why he didn't last at Real Madrid now. Clueless manager.

Re: Team v Sunderland
Nope, I still want Arsenal to win. Forget about doing us a favour as we don;t deserve any. Beaten by a Cardiff, Sunderland and Villa away and lucky to get a draw against Stoke. Sunderland and Stoke are in the bottom 3 with Villa and Cardiff going clear of the relegation zone only yesterday.
Just about all the results have been good for us this weekend, we should have finished the day in 3rd and looking good. Instead we look crap and everyone will want to play us when we are on the road.

Re: Team v Sunderland
Just got in. Recorded it, just found out we've lost 1-0...won't fucking bother. As soon as I saw Garcia in the team....I thought what is MP doing? Well, as I said, didn't watch the game, won't bother...but MP is already under serious pressure after 11 games. If he can't pick a team to win against Cardiff, Villa and Sunderland away...well fuck me, whatever the press say about him will be deserved....as this is nothing short of an abysmal start to the PL campaign. Fuck the CL, the PL should be our number one target until we've won it several times.. How fucking arrogant!

Re: Team v Sunderland
The problem with that is, the CL is by far a bigger money spinner and doing well in that helps us balance our books. I'm not saying I agree with it, but after all the spending we've done, we need to do something to pull the balance sheet in our favour or we won't be able to play in Europe at all.blueboy wrote:Fuck the CL, the PL should be our number one target until we've won it several times.. That said, on the back of that performance, appearing in the CL won't be an option...

Re: Team v Sunderland
Exactly blue, his attitude seems to be we have better players we will win. He has tried absolutely nothing different in any away game and what has happened so far? It just doesn't work like that. It's always a flat back 10 and a team so up for getting the ball first, while our prima donnas tip tap about.
Anyway shows us Nasri is no Silva!

Given our away record to the supposedly weaker teams, I'm not looking forward to the trip to Selhurst Park

Re: Team v Sunderland
Fuck the CL. How fucking arrogant is MP that he thinks we can pick any team away from home and win? We'll never win the CL this season, we have the international break coming up...and he fucks about with the team again!! I know we've got a few injuries...but as you said, all this money spent, and have we really improved??? I'm getting a little disillusioned with MP...if he think Garcia is worthy of a blue shirt...it sort of sums him all up. Clueless.leopold wrote:The problem with that is, the CL is by far a bigger money spinner and doing well in that helps us balance our books. Re: Team v Sunderland
Navas is doing nothing for us, he just can't beat his man and can't get crosses in. I saw a few times near the end of the match, we had the ball in a wide position and had just one man or sometimes two men in the box. How the fuck are we going to score like that? Our corners are generally very poor, we seemed devoid of ideas.
Did any of our players actually perform even half decent today?

Re: Team v Sunderland
Micah showed me today why I far prefer Zabba at right back. What the hell was he doing in midfield ambling along whilst Milner was in the right back position being fouled by Bardsley before he scored. The original attack had broken down he should have been busting a gut to get back and relieve Milner. I honestly think we missed Spanish Dave way to much, He is the only player who ever looks likely to find the impossible pass the one inspirational moment needed to win a game. I can see why Isco would have been a big signing for us when we can't break down 10 man defences. The thing is we are going to have to sort it out pretty quick or we will be well adrift come xmas time. The other big problem for us is our lack of getting players in where it hurts time & time again Navas , Nasri, Zabba & Kolarov were putting balls in and all we had was Negredo & Aguero or later Dzeko & Aguero in the box whilst they had 7 or 8 inc the keeper. How are we going to win any balls that way?

Re: Team v Sunderland
To answer your question Dawg I honestly did not think our centre backs did anything wrong Demichelis & Lescott were fine they were not put under any pressure and coped reasonably well with Sunderlands lack of attacking threat. My big disappointment was Micah & a severe lack of decent service to the front 2.

I missed the first hour Oz, but didn't expect us to be losing when I got in. We looked poor going forwards and we need better pressing.

Re: Team v Sunderland
Blue we had 24 shots on goal but only 4 on target they had 1 on target we had 60% possession we were more than comfortable but we have an acute lack of guile when it comes to breaking down 10 man defences it was villa all over again but without the defensive errors.

Re: Team v Sunderland
Dawg I agree we need better pressing as a team Fernandinho was probably a big miss in the middle as he does a lot of the unseen dirty work very effectively and presses players into mistakes/ giving the ball away cheaply.

Re: Team v Sunderland
I got up early to watch the game at 8am on a stuttering streaming site in the hotel lobby which was the only place that had wireless. To say I was disappointed is an understatement, talk of replacing MP or him getting sacked is a bit premature but he needs to listen to the likes of Brian Kidd who I assume is advising him while he settles in to the PL style of play? If he is not listening and just doing it his own way then that is simply arrogant and will be his downfall. He needs to understand that away from home requires a different tactic especially against shit teams that defend in numbers and play long balls over the top against a high line.

Re: Team v Sunderland
If he had listened to Kiddo, he'd have known that we've thrice before come across Sunderland's best defender. He may be old and slow, but he's tall and strong and not easy to get past. I've found an old picture of him from when he used to mooch around Sunderland.ManCityMan wrote:If he is not listening and just doing it his own way then that is simply arrogant and will be his downfall. I believe his facebook page goes under his alter-ego, Leyland Atlantean...
