29,452. That's about what we got for Villarreal, I think.
Considering we were all so excited about getting into the CL, I think it'll be a piss poor turnout. So what if they're the whipping boys? They're league champions!

Re: Guess tonights crowd
Will the figure be the tickets sold or the people that actually turn up?
I reckon we could be down to the low 20s with people actually turning up...

I used to argue that the number stated over the tannoy was the actual attendance, because we have a sophisticated entry system that can log the number of people going through the turnstiles. I believed that right up until we played Wigan in the league last season, where the tannoy announced nearly 47,000 people in attendance, despite being able to see huge swathes of empty seats for the entire game and only 80 Wiganers there.

So how do they get a figure of just under 47000, if there are 2500 or so empty seats in the away end?leopold wrote:I used to argue that the number stated over the tannoy was the actual attendance, because we have a sophisticated entry system that can log the number of people going through the turnstiles. I have no idea. There were lots of empty seats in the other areas too, though. I'd have said 33k at best.
I was very disappointed, cos I thought we were better than that.

Re: Guess tonights crowd
Unfortunately, people will always pick and choose their games leo (even season ticket/card holders).
Glad to say i'm not one of those and when my new card comes through (whenever that is) i'll be there come wind, rain, hail, snow...no matter what, i just love footy.
I was even there last night (1000 picked not to go) with the other 1950 at Gigg to watch the Shakers starting out on their long road to recovery .

Sad but true, mate. And fair play to you for going to every game. I think, if you love your club, you should be there no matter what. Which is why I go to every match possible, even the crappy cup games where the second string play like puddings for two hours while I get soaked to the skin.shakencity wrote:Unfortunately, people will always pick and choose their games leo (even season ticket/card holders).

I go whenever I can (3 home games this year) and sometimes miss work to get to a game in time.
