Loan Players - Wenger has a point
So Mr Wenger is lamenting the loan system again.
Chelski v Toffees and Lukaku cannot play. So 2 games this season they have an unfair advantage against other top teams. Same goes with us and Gazbaz, he is instrumental in their success.
He does have a real point, if you choose to put a player out on a season loan they are not your player for that season and should be able to play against you.
Either that or you cannot loan to the same division, which is my preferred option personally.

Problem being, if you're paying half their wages, they are your player...
Problem being with loaning to another division, is that the likes of Barry and Lukaku are far too good for The Championship.
I'm not that fussed over the loan system and just think Wenger moans at everything.
Let's face it, with Lukaku and Barry in the team, they beat United. So for the fact that they can't play against Chelsea or City, really doesn't bother me to be honest.

It's tough if they are too good for lower division, sit in the reserves then. It all leads to an unlevel playing field.

Another reason for not playing against the club that holds your contract was that no one can point the finger in any throwing the game allegation by not trying. Imagine the scenario your player playing against you last game of the season you need a point to win. He has the golden opportunity to score misses and the accusations start flying.

And how is this fair on Lukaku or Barry? They want to play, they are decent players, so why bench them or play them in the reserves where they effectively rot? Why not let them play somewhere else?blisteringblue wrote:It's tough if they are too good for lower division, sit in the reserves then. It all leads to an unlevel playing field.
The playing field is already far from level anyway. Arsenal have been able to blow £46m on a single player, whereas Everton's entire squad isn't worth much more than that. So Everton won't be able to play Lukaku against Chelsea, so what? The only team that really suffers there is Everton.
Ultimately, it's at worst a six point advantage. If Wenger really thinks that six points is going to damage his hopes for the title then perhaps he should work on correcting that balance by taking six points off the teams that benefit from Everton's disadvantage instead of bitching about a system that actually works.
