WTF has happened to us in the last few weeks
We were scoring goals for fun.Everyone was scared of coming to play us
Now we struggle against mediocre teams
It surely can't be all down to losing one man !!!

Very little movement up front...
Navas is a must...this game is crying out for pace.....
Shove Nasri in behind either Negredo or Dzeko (bring one of them off).
Kolorov and Zab MUST get forward more.
Sometimes after a mid week game, it takes 45 mins to get back into it......players tend to get a second wind in the second half..let's hope so as that was dire.

Confidence is suffering, that is all I can think?
Seriously though, this anti football played by these shit teams bugs the life out of me. There is simply a flat back 10.

Dzeko is nothing short of one single word........SHITE!
3 massive points.....absolutely awful performance......but after Tuesday....wouldn't expect anything, especially as MP played most of the same team.
Jovetic.....I mean WTF? Another fucking Richards and Rodwell.
If Italy wants him back in the summer for £20m, add £20m for Dzeko, and we can get another couple of strikers for £50m.
It's a times like this, when I see just how shit Dzeko's touch is....I'd have Balotelli back in a heartbeat....
One to forget that match....

Absolutely, but a massive 3 points. We don't play in the prem for 3 weeks now, so we really could not afford to drop points there.

Woeful but bagged 3 points
I pray Aguero plays in the CC and can stay fit for the rest of the season otherwise we are screwed
Negredo is 1/2 the player without him Dzeko is 1/50 of the player

I just wish we would take our chances when presented why do we need 19 shots at goal to score 1. Why is it that when in a good position to let fly we/ (silva) always looks for another pass instead of backing himself same as Nasri. Dzeko well he owes us a performance now after that miss. If Ireland had scored at the end that really would have rubbed salt in the wound. I really do feel for Jovetic surely to god his luck has to change . The other 2 players we got fro Fiorentina were Bojinov & Nastasic. I see a trend here?????

We looked very tired today.....I can see that MP wanted to play one of his strongest teams and we won, but, we were crying out for Navas all game......Milner must think wtf?
Silva was excellent on the ball again, Yaya, apart from his goal, was wasteful....
Negredo, I feel really sorry for....he just cannot play with Dzeko....they are too similar, apart from one of them is fucking useless and misses open nets from 3 yrds, cannot control or pass a ball for toffee and for 6'4...get's all of 2 feet off the ground for headers....
I know he has scored some important goals for us.....but still, he pretty much contributes the sum of fuck all most of the time. Terrible player IMO.
When Sergio comes back...I expect Dzeko to be relegated to the odd subs appearance then fucked off in the summer....that's what I'm hoping for anyway.....and Jovetic can share a taxi with him. What a waste of money!
We don't need 2 sick notes in the squad, never mind 3!!!

Agree with Silva.......he's a player who should regularly get 15 a season with the amount of good positions he gets into...wish he would just pull the trigger!
It's mainly another sideways pass.......shoot ffs!

To be fair, Demichellis played well enough but they did not pose much threat going forward it was mainly long punts to Giraffe boy.
Dzeko was very poor again and really needs to be sold on in the summer, i have defended him in the past but after that display i have no more sympathy for him. Garcia had a short appearance but did well enough and even managed to put in a decent shot on goal.
Kompany was walking on thin ice and is looking a pale imitation of the player he was in our title winning season. Silva ran his socks off ad tried hard as usual and won the MOM award on the stream i watched from Setanta. Jovetic is another that has to be sold in the summer, he is a passenger we cannot afford to carry on the wage bill along with Micha and Rodwell.
Yaya was constantly sitting too deeep and not getting forward enough in the second half which i dont understand as Stoke had 10 men behind the ball most of the time. He eventually moved forward when Garcia came into midfield and scored!!!! ffs.

Never mind - 3 pts which we badly needed to stay up there with Chelski and we have a game in hand. One of those awful matches against the cloggers. Couch looks like a spiv now.
We will have an 8 day rest - only us and the Gooners had to play mid-week. Yes I know they hammered Sunderland but by the time Sunday rolls around we may have a fully fit squad minus Jovetic.

Yeah, agree about the rest Wensdi....we've had to play a massive match midweek...but no excuse not to play Milner after a weeks rest.
Jovetic......sorry, but this kid MUST be sold back to Italy. Never seen anything in his matches that makes you think..."wow", he is top class, like Negredo did when he came in. I know he's had injuries, but wtf? 3 games back and he lasts 12 minutes.....I mean, wtf is that all about after all of his sick notes he's pulled so far this season?
Let's just put it down to a bad buy...move him on and bring in some reliable and exciting young players...
In the summer;
Dzeko and Jovetic must go.
Rodwell, Richards and Lescott should be gone. (Garcia, maybe keep).
Either Kolorov or Clichy should be sold.
That leaves another LB/CB/RB/CM/X2 ST....
So...who should we be looking at, especially as we didn;t do anything in Jan and may get some 'huge' wage earners off the books?
for me it's
LB = Shaw
CB = Ramos
CAM = Isco
ST = Benzema
ST = ?????

Benzema...no thanks. Can't see Ramos coming unless he's really pissed off. Shaw and Isco for starters. Hummels or Subotic with another up and coming CB as backup. Striker - I reckon we have about £50M, who would be good enough and would be happy enough to rotate?

That was a turgid match btw. Along with Palace, the most negative team though Palace did manage to waste more time right from the start of their match here.

I'm not sure about shaw yet, maybe for the future. I can't see him not going to Chelsea.
A central defender is the vital one for me, Isco as well would be great.

Maybe Shaw will look where he's most likely to get games. Will he be first choice for Jose when even Ashley Cole can't get games? He's got more chance at Utd. but they won't have CL footy.
My feeling is we will just buy from abroad.Last summer I don't remember a single rumour that we were seriously in for an English player.

Good point. To be fair, there aren't that many that justify the potential price tag.
Chelsea seem to be more in a dire need for a lb than we are, him being a big fan of them as well just makes me think that is the most likely destination.

Re: City v Stoke Match Thread - Updated
No doubt they were mentally and physically tired after Tuesday...but MP still stuck with the same protagonists....instead of freshening it up a little. I mean, Milner hadn't played for over a week....yet sat on the bench.
Yaya, though he scored, needs a rest IMO....he looks shot.
Negredo looks really uncomfortable playing with Dzeko...they have no mutual understanding of each others game.....and it doesn't help when Dzeko puts in, probably his worse performance in a City shirt...everything he did was awful, from his passing to his control, to his effort to his finishing....
The sooner Sergio is back the better...and with another game or two under Fernandinho and Nasri's belts.....it'll freshen it up a little.

Time that yaya was given license to play further forward,I think Garcia should be given the opportunity to play next to Fernandinho in front of the back 4 to give the front 4 a chance to really attack.
Team I would play in the final,assuming Sergio is only on the bench
Pantilimon
Zabaleta Kompany Lescott Kolorov
Garcia Fernandinho
Nasri Yaya Silva
Negredo

Why Yaya is allowed to play so deep is truly baffling. He becomes so inept during the game that his presence in the team isn't warranted.
I'm sick to death of saying the same things over and over again on this subject, the sooner MP plays him as an attacking midfielder the better it will be for everyone.
Pplf team really does have so merit and looks good on paper, but imo it'll never get given the go ahead, as MP won't play with that set-up.

Yeah, I think that would work....as without Aguero, the 4-4-2 with Dzeko and Negredo isn't working.
Problems lies in when Aguero is fit, which after next weekend will be the case.
MP will keep Yaya next to Fernandinho and that's fine by me when Sergio plays, as he drops off, goes wide, is constantly moving, which leaves Negredo to do the nasty stuff, hold the ball up, muscle in on defenders etc....which when Aguero does his stuff, leaves spaces in front of Yaya to make his runs further forward. With Dzeko AND Negredo, they seem to be too static and take each others space, therefore, it's easier for the opposition defenders to mark them and keep a tight back line, with another 3 or 4 in front of them. It's been all down to our movement up front that had us playing such brilliant, attacking football...that's been missing since Aguero has been injured again.

Sorry to change the subject but I didn't want to start a new thread - Snodgrass can really take some fantastic corners, has a great left foot and takes a good free kick. I've noticed him before - but after watching him today - think he will probably interest a few top clubs in the summer.
