Is it all about defending deep and counter attacking with pace?

Chelsea have done a number on both City and the dippers by defending deep and attacking with pace.

Madrid have pretty much done the same to Bayern and given them one heck of a beating.

Tiki taka seems to be on the way out just when we are going down that route. It will still serve us well but it won't be good enough to get us to the top level.

And can we get ourselves someone in that really top top bracket of player like Bale, Ronaldo or Messi. I know we all love Sergio but he isn't at that level for me yet. Maybe his injuries this season have prevented him from getting into that top bracket, but I'd take any of those three over Sergio.

What????? I'd love any of those 3, but I'd never replace Sergio with any of them.....

I know what you're getting at Dawg, and we do need to be a little more direct at times, but Yaya's goal at the weekend showed we can change our play..if we need to.

Oh, Sergio Ramos anyone???

At times teams just need to be able to defend for their lives. I didn't watch the first half, but did Bayern ever look like scoring? There will be the odd half chance, like Liverpool had against Chelsea, but not many clear cut golden scoring opportunities. Any team with Bale and Ronaldo playing is always going to be a threat.
