Chelsea......yet we still agree to buy him for £32m.

Why aren't we telling him to go there then (if they want him), while we look elsewhere?

Yeah maybe, but why couldn't they just print "Mangala says it's his dream to play for Manchester City and it's about to come true"?...rather than this "I'd rather play for Chelsea" shit....it drives me mad.

Because then he'd sound like Adam Lallana, the Everton fan, who said "it's always been my dream to play for Liverpool. They have amazing history".....that, after he took out a full page ad thanking the Soton fans for their support, after telling Soton, "if you won't sell me to Liverpool, I'll never play for you again"

Players are generally, full of shit.

Porto want more money for their man, so they are happy for this talk. His agent wants more money for his man, so he is happy for this talk. Mangala wants more money for himself, so he is happy with this talk.

I watched a rerun of porto v city in the Europa league 2011, specifically to watch Fernando & mangala, Fernando certainly puts himself about & covers some ground, Mangala came on as a sub after 22mins & really was not mentioned at all. in the 2nd leg Mangala did not get on at all.
He was only a sub for the French national team & did not appear in the team at all at the world cup so I have to say ok he was only 20 / 21 during the Europa games but 30 mill + seems way to excessive for a player who at best has shown a little promise. Go for the lad from Roma if it is a straight choice. Hummels has already said he is not leaving Dortmund & has just signed a 5 year contract so I guess that rules him out even if we were in for him, which I am sure we are not.
