Chelsea's new shirt deal...£40M
Surely we should be able to re-negotiate the Etihad deal and get at least that amount, if not more. After all, we've won the league twice in the last three seasons. Utd are getting £53M a year. Liverpool are getting £20M a year from Standard Chartered but I expect that to be well over £30M when they get a new sponsor or renew. Arsenal are getting £30M a year.
I think we should have done this a couple of years ago to help with FFP. UEFA could have said it wasn't market value but we could have pointed out these deals and said we were market innovators etc.

What is Citys deal worth at the moment?

Is it not £20m per season? There's absolutely no excuse now not to renegotiate for parity with the others - UEFA can't say anything now with these deals.

We got £35M per season for the academy (£10M), the stadium naming rights (£5M) and shirt sponsorship (£20M).
I wonder how much we failed FFP by and why. We appeared to have done some dodgy deals with subsidiaries, but I think they also did us on this deal too.
As I said at the time, that deal with Etihad undervalued the asset they were getting. In fact, with all these deals, it seriously undervalued the value.
