Rogers says he won't be leaving this summer. But if they don't get CL football, then I can't see him staying. Or at least he'll be very pissed off and Liverpool will try and beg him to stay another 12 months to see if they can make it the next season (and to let Ibe develop to take his place if he leaves).

I like him as he's only 20 and should be getting better and better. £40M bid from us in the summer for him.

LFC won't have anything to say over the matter.

If Sterling wants to go, he will. His agent will make sure of that, as we well know.

Bad press for a club isn't what any owner wants - and especially a player that has already said he wants to leave.

I think the fact that he made the BBC interview 'without' permission from the club, says that he and his agent aren't afraid of LFC, Rogers or the fans.

He made several key points in the interview that for me, means he WILL be leaving in the summer:

1- It's disappointing to lose world class players like Gerrard and Suarez as I want to win things.

2 - Last season, when discussions over contracts came about - if LFC had offered me a new improved contract, I would have probably signed it there and then, for far less than I've been offered now.

3 - I wouldn't sign a contract right now, regardless of what they offered. It's about winning trophies for me...and I just want to concentrate on winning something this season, discuss the whole issue in the summer when I've decided what's best for me, not others.

If they don't get CL, he'll be itching for a move. If they win the FA cup, he might stay another season.

Liverpool could try and do a Suarez with him and keep him an extra 12 months.

40m is still too much, but enjoying seeing the dippers squirming.  Some of the callers on talkshite this week have been priceless.  Apparently he's having a bad season and he can go anyway.
