Tuesday gossip
Carlos Tevez, currently back in south America on international duty, could be making his stay on that continent a permanent one if the world's media are to be believed this morning.
Corinthians of Brazil, one of his former clubs, are said to have "tabled" a big-money bid for the skipper. Sky Sports has a brief quote from the lad himself - "If there is interest, I don't have any problem in returning to Corinthians."
It's the kind of story picked up and syndicated around the world in the blink of an eye - or the press of an "Enter" button. The Irish Independent says Corinthians' offer is a "lifeline" - didn't realise he was struggling quite that badly, but there you go...
"With none of Europe's leading clubs apparently interested in spending the £50million City suggested was the fee they would expect for their captain, it was starting to look like Tevez might spend next season at the Etihad Stadium after all. However, now has come news of Corinthians' interest," says the II.
The English Independent newspaper refers to Corinthians' alleged offer as baffling, but their main story, one mentioned in several UK papers, is all about Emmanuel Adebayor. It's said he has not shown up for training leading to City being in a "struggle with disenchanted strikers".
Elsewhere, our exclusive chat with Nigel de Jong has been picked up by many a keen-eyed observer, with the Star being one to highlight how opposing fans feel about us.
And it seems that Shay Given is a wanted man; Aston Villa's Stilian Petrov sees him as the ideal replacement for Brad Friedel on UTV's site - "Shay is one of the best keepers in the league and, if he comes to us, it will be a great signing for us.
"He's got European experience and Premier League experience so what else do you need?" As ever, any departures or arrivals will be only be confirmed right here on mcfc.co.uk...but you knew that anyway!

Re: Tuesday gossip
I'd heard NDJ was also going to have "a quiet word" with Sniedjer about coming to City, don't know how much truth there is in that......probably not much.

Re: Tuesday gossip
wouldn't it be wonderful to have Sneidjer, Nasri, Yaya and Silva as our midfield?
even kevin phillips would score 20 goals a season with that supply
