They didn't appreciate him there anyway. Granted, he's not a great manager, but he does have a couple of tricks up his sleeve. He'd probably do okay at Newky, right up until the point he loses a couple of games to relegation fodder and they sack him after six months in charge.
Again.
Again.

no way would the newky fans have him back they detested him & it was Ashley who took over Newcastle then promptly sacked him

I can't see him at Newcastle either.
How fucking stupid are WHU owners? They are moving to the Olympic stadium....trying to sell 40,000+ tickets, have just finished about where they should - 10th.....what will happen if whoever comes in gets them relegated?
They'd be fucked.

I personally think this is BFS shoving 2 fingers up. Board said they would discuss in the summer, but it's Sam saying he is going. Can't blame him.
He won't struggle for work.

Agree. There's plenty of relegation threatened teams that would jump at the chance of getting his experience. He won't win them many trophies, but he's got enough nous to keep them at the trough.

Short-sighted and very dangerous gamble by the owners.
You'd think they would see how ticket sales go, buy a few more players and see if BFS could improve them to a Europa place....but now, whatever happens, it's a massive gamble that could backfire.
Not particularly keen on BFS....but he guarantees stability, even if mediocrity.
