I'd go for that team too TD. We have to be wary of playing so high tomorrow. Look what happened to Spurs..

Re: team vs Hammers
If we play with a back 5 or 6, maybe we could have Navas or Nasri instead of Jimmy.
That would be enough in attack to cause them problems with Yaya breaking through as well.

Re: team vs Hammers
Maybe that's why the Guardian said, on Thursday, that Demechelis would get his debut at the weekend...

Re: team vs Hammers
MP has confirmed that both Demichelis and Kompany are out.
I'll go with Lezza and Micah at the heart of defence instead. If he chooses Garcia again, he deserves all the stick he gets.
I'd rather have Rodwell at CB than Garcia.

He's had a run out for the EDS, but he's not match fit yet. MP says he hopes they'll both be available in a week

Re: team vs Hammers
Pellegrini said that De,michellis is over the injury but is at the same stage as Kompany in that the game v west ham has come a week to soon but both are expected to be fit for next weekend v Chelsea. I have a sneaky feeling we may see Kompany on weds v Cska. Rodwell is fit so could well make the bench.

Re: team vs Hammers
I reckon Kompany may come back for CSKA as well. The risk with bringing him back a bit too early is that he may well be out for a few matches after that.
Once again, we'll see how important that CL is for the owners.
The thing is, if we beat CSKA at their place, we should really be assured of getting out of the group so they may well risk Kompany there.

Re: team vs Hammers
Team announced on website
Hart, Richards, Garcia, Nastasic, Clichy, Nasri, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva, Aguero, Negredo
There is Mancini style stubbornness with the Garcia in defence, we all know it doesn't work, why can't MP see that. I'd rather have Boyatta than Garcia, but good to see Crystali back.

Bloody hell....what's he doing??
Thinking about the CL again!!!!
If we lose today, MP wants a fucking bollocking!
CB's do not need to be rested FFS!

Lets see if he has learned anything about away football in the prem yet though. It was a dire 0-0 there last season if I remember, lets hope for a little more this time.

Re: team vs Hammers
Where the hell is Lescott ? Surely anyone with half a brain wouldn't put Garcia anywhere near the centre back position?

Re: team vs Hammers
This is fucking bollocks. Garcia can't fucking defend, he hasn't got any pace either.
I'd have had Zabba at RB and Micah at CB. Or Lezza at CB. Or Rodwell at CB. Or Yaya at CB. Even Edin, fucking lazy bastard, Dzeko but not Garcia.
I knew I should have taken the kids to the cinema tonight rather than watch what might very well be another load of bollocks...

Good job it didn't end as a load of bollocks, eh? I blew one of my free Sky passes on it, not the most entertaining game ever, but a win's a win. And I predicted 3-1 as well

Re: team vs Hammers
I knew Zabba would not be starting as he only arrived back from Argentina on fri & that is the normal excuse Pellegrini also stated he sees Micah as a right back so there was no chance of him starting at CB I can only assume He was taking no chances with Lescott as if Kompany is not available weds then Lescott should partner Nastasic in Moscow & if Kompany is available then maybe Nastasic drop to the bench as that was the preferred starting pairing for the Everton game until Kompany got injured.

Credit where it's due PPLF, but West Ham didn't really test us the way they could or should have. Having no proper forward helped our CBs.

Re: team vs Hammers
Probably but he still had his best game in a city shirt and along with the renaissance of kolorov it appears the shit players from last season are becoming useful members of the squad under Pellegrini

I will certainly agree with that PPLF. It's a very good things as well for team spirit and the bank balance.

Re: team vs Hammers
Can't argue with that. I think it's a good thing, too, as we shouldn't just keep shipping players in and out on a whim, it's no good for building a squad. Pellers obviously saw something in them and it's starting to show.Paulpowersleftfoot wrote:Probably but he still had his best game in a city shirt and along with the renaissance of kolorov it appears the shit players from last season are becoming useful members of the squad under Pellegrini

Re: team vs Hammers
Garcia's a utility player and nothing more, as is Kolarov....and we have to remember this.
Both will have iffy games but they will also have good games too, Garcia had one of those yesterday....good strikers against him or not.
As Pplf said, credit where credit's due, plus it can only be good for his confidence too.

Can't argue with Garcia's performance...though tbf...he wasn't up against much, but did what he had to do.
MP got it right....thought Silva was immense yesterday.

I thought he was ok until we were under pressure in the 2nd half. He was of little use to us then.
MPs substitutions seemed to work out for him.

I also think Fernandino is improving every game as he comes to terms with the prem. I know he needs to show his 30m but I don't worry about him now.

Re: team vs Hammers
Ditto. He's definitely getting better, which is good because it means Yaya can leave him to it and get more involved himself. Still not at £30m yet, but at this rate of improvement it can't be much longer.

Re: team vs Hammers
The thing is,MP was brought in to unravel the mess that Mancini left, and so far he is doing just that.He has only been here a few months and we can see the difference emerging, and it bodes well for the future if he carries on like this. The team seems much more in coordination and enjoying the games more, and his interviews are not about MP,but abut the team:P

Re: team vs Hammers
i have been critical of Fernandinho in previous threads or rather his £30m transfer fee. I agree that he seems to be getting better and he was certainly on good form against West Ham, if he continues to settle and improve with each game he may even prove to be worth the £30m that we forked out for him but i doubt that he will improve to that extent.
A great performance from all the team on Saturday and even more enjoyable after the rags dropped more points at home.
