Hammers could be thrown out....
of they FA Cup....but because they're a PL club, there isn't a cat in hells chance of it happening. Now if it was Bristol City that had progressed and were in this situation, i'd bet a pound to a penny they'd be thrown out quicker than Usain Bolt running the 100mtrs.

Re: Hammers could be thrown out....
And they have the audacity to say the charge is worthless and should be thrown out. The rules are that, if the guy is injured and can't hook up with the national team, then they have to get the agreement of the national association to let him play for the club.
Rules are rules.
Ben Arfa can't play for Nice because he played a poxy U21 game for Newcastle before his loan spell at Hull therefore he's played for 2 clubs within 12 months already.
Micah couldn't move to Inter because he played a few minutes in the community shield and on loan at Fiorentina using up his 2 clubs within 12 months.
If they are getting screwed, then so should the Hammers.

But didn't Taggart used to do the same thing with his squad players? Not saying it's right, but I don't recall them being in bother for putting the kibosh on international teams.

He played for the Hammers during the tournament. I'm guessing the purple nosed one mad his players miss the friendly internationals or qualifiers but then they played in the league game right after the internationals were over.

Re: Hammers could be thrown out....
Nothing to do with the likes of Micah etc...that's club transfer rules.
They will just get a doctors report to say he wasn't fit to fly at that time.
It's nonsense story and nothing will be done about it.

Re: Hammers could be thrown out....
Rules are rules Bluey, regardless of how pedantic. The rules say he needs clearance to play again don't they? I can see how his home country's FA aren't happy that they guy is unfit to fly but can still play. He's unfit to fly but can be driven for 5 hours to get to a match. They already have a doctors report saying that he was unfit to fly.

But not one to say he was unfit to play ANY games.
We all know how clubs treat Internationals and whether we agree or disagree on the morales of it....the fact is, he wasn't fit to fly.

They will just bend the rules as it's Internationals, as you said, Taggert did it for years...so there's you test case.
Nothing they can or will want to do about it.

Sounds to me like someone has more than a passing interest in this, Dawg. Why are you so keen for the book to be thrown at the Hammers? If this gets turned over, we needn't worry about ACON in the future.Topdawg wrote:Well, I hope you're wrong.

Re: Hammers could be thrown out....
No Leo, I just don't see why the rules should be bent for top clubs or players. Looks like the new Utd loan signing can play for them even though he's already played for two clubs this season because one loan spell was an 'emergency loan' and the 16 games he played don;t count yet other players (such as Ben Arfa and Micah) get screwed by an U21 game and 14 minutes in the community shield.

Re: Hammers could be thrown out....
The fact you keep pointing to these loan spells suggests to me you're more bothered about the rags breaking the rules. I agree, it's shit that the big clubs get the breaks, but this is where money steps in: of you

Damn phone... I was saying, if you have money and pull, rules are only there as an advisory. The FA are going to do as little as FIFA if it means keeping the revenue coming in.

Fined £71,000, but get to keep their place in the cup.

Is that justice done? Like being fined 71p for speeding, I'd say...

Exactly leo.....still willing to bet if it'd been the other way round, Bristol would have been boot out .
Fines for PL clubs is absolutely pointless.
