I can't believe Rodgers said Gerrard may return on loan. If you value him enough to have him in your squad, you should have offered him a short-term contract. Wise One, London.
But what was he meant to say? Journalist: ‘Might Steve return on loan in the MLS close season?’ Rodgers: ‘No.’ Headline: ‘Rodgers snubs Liverpool’s greatest player on eve of final game, voted world’s biggest bastard by overwrought fans.’ Outcome: career suicide. So he gave the diplomatic answer, which was ‘Let’s see’.

Didn't Gerrard come out and say in his interview with the BBC...I won't be coming back to play on loan.
