Why do LFC want to keep shooting themselves in the foot?

How on earth can you offer a paltry £20M for the lad?

Someone else will come along and offer £28-£30M and snag him under their noses. They've got to bite the bullet and pay the money.

Sours have bid £12M for Ings and Burnley have accepted, even though Ings will likely end up at Liverpool. The thing is, when the tribunal come to setting a fee, it should be around the £10-£12M mark rather than the £5M they wanted to pay. What a fuck up.

Sounds to me like the spuds have stolen a march on Ings there.  They clearly knew the tribunal would set the price at peanuts and I suspect they've chipped in with a big bid to scare off any bidding war and to ensure that if the dippers do get him, they'll be paying a "proper" price.

£20m for Benteke is an insult.

They've spent £221m on players since Rogers has been the manager - and they've no CL next season......there's no money left in the pot.
