City to bid for Stones?

We may have to play our hand if Chelsea look like they'll have a bid accepted. It'd cause us some problems if we got him this summer (in that we'll have too many CBs and some will be very unhappy), but we should do it.
I can see why the club wanted to wait until next summer before they bid. Stone would have had another 12 months under his belt to develop playing most games for Everton. The price wouldn't change much, if at all. Dimi would have left us.
If we do bid and get him, we'll have Kompany, Stones, Denayer, Dimi and Mangala fighting for two spots.

Re: City to bid for Stones?
Someone who can play LB and CB? I'm sure we aren't interested especially since we sold a similar young player (Rekik) for £3.5M.
We should have brought Rekik back this year (if he wanted to come). Even if he played just a handful of games for the 1st team, it would have increased his transfer value. I can't believe we sold him for just £3.5M.

He could also play right back so an option if we have an out of form or injured zabba, as well as left back or loan him back to Everton for the season like Chelsea do with a lot of their purchases, then sell him for 3 times as much next season.
