Burnley vs City - Live Thread
First topic message reminder :
Will Sergio be fit? Will TLMLF get another game? You'd have to say after he scored 2 goals last week, it'd be hard for another Manager to leave him out - but this is Pep!
For me:
Bravo
Sagna, Stones, Ota, Clichy
Fernandinho, Gundogan
Sterling, Silva, KDB
Aguero

Trevor Francis and Savage are cock-wombles....why if a player goes down, is it cheating - he may have twisted or pulled something, not necessarily looking for a free-kick! You fuck-wits!

Re: Burnley vs City - Live Thread
Sorry. Good 3 points, but we're garbage at the moment.
Far too many rotations by Pep.
There was absolutely no need to drop Stones, Silva and KDB today.
The defence is rubbish. Otamendi, Kolorov and Clichy are simply not good enough....we need these 3 players - incl Zab with Maffeo, replacing in Jan or the summer.
Nolito pulls up no trees, play Sane more and give him a chance to get into the swing of things in the PL.
As I said, 3 points - but the football is garbage...as as interesting as MP's teams.
We needs another 4-5 players in the next 12 months to assist Pep to play he wants to play - as some are clearly not good enough. Gabriel....one more month!! Can't wait - he'll bring something different up front - as at the moment, Sergio is constantly trying to adapt to different players, week in week out - how can you get an understanding???

Re: Burnley vs City - Live Thread
We weren't supposed to be getting anyone besides Gabriel in January but the mail said we'll get another CB since Vinnie is almost finished (at least for 6 weeks to start with).
I can't see us getting the players we need in. So, if we can only buy one player in January, what position would you go for and who?
I'd go for CB as that's one area we are really vulnerable with otamendi's diving in and Stones giving the ball away far too often.
With a better CB, then we can better support the shit full backs and help them out when they leave us in the shit.
Who to get? Go back for Laporte as he can also play in the CL.

That's the thing Scott...we've got no matches for 7 days....and to rest 2 of your best 3 attacking footballers, plus your best defender....add to that a player in Gundogan who has scored a few goals - for Fernando (he was pretty much non-existent)....also add to that TLMLF - is it a wonder the likes of Sterling and Aguero find it difficult to operate to their best? Yes, Sergio scored two tap ins, but Sterling constantly had the ball and nobody was offering any movement (TLMLF being the closest to him and stood still). And why, when you have the likes of Kolorov, is Sterling tasked with taking free kicks and corners? I'm sure he doesn't want to take them, so why isn't a 'leader' on the pitch or the manager, telling Kolorov "you take them"? Bizarre little things like that.
Still, we got 3 points - but we really need to improve in defence and the final 3rd....as currently, we're nowhere near as attacking and clinical as Chelsea or LFC....yet, we have the players.
It'd be nice to see us play a similar team for 3/4 games on the run, like the first 6-10 games...when we went unbeaten.

MEN just gave TLMF 8/10 and said a MoTM performance! At least they only gave Ota the 3/10 he barely deserved, seriously was he the better option than Mango

Re: Burnley vs City - Live Thread
5-6 appearances. 1 start. 20-30 minutes as a sub. 20 years of age. New to the PL. New to the country and new Manager (with no experience to call on)...Sterling had 2 proper seasons in the PL before he moved to us for a big signing fee.
How can you possibly decide that Sane is shit?
Really????? Give the kid a chance - because that's what he is.
Why does Nolito deserve to start? He does fuck all but run around like Navas does, gets yellow and red cards for petulance and he's got loads of experience behind him....if anyone wants calling out, it's him! He's garbage!

Re: Burnley vs City - Live Thread
Sane has been involved in 9 games this season. That's 40% of total games (not even checking when he signed so it could well be a higher % of games eligible or).
I've said he's done fuck all. Doesn't mean he hasn't got skill. It means he's showed us fuck all in the time he's had on the pitch.
And I've also said he's young, in a new league etc. but he's shown us fuck all.

Re: Burnley vs City - Live Thread
'Involved'.......????
That's not starting 9 games. Involved can mean 10 mins here as a sub, 20 mins there as a sub.
He's only started one game.....Jesus, give him a break! You're starting to call him out like you did over Sterling - and he's been one of our best players this season!!
If a players experienced, got lots of game-experience and they come, it still takes time, but when they're a kid learning their trade, in a new country, getting the odd minutes here and there - what do you really want them to do - score a goal every time they set foot on the pitch in the 75th - 90th minute?????
You've been raving over Gabriel coming in Jan - just like I have....if he get's 15-20 mins game time every 4-5 matches and doesn't score 3-5 goals, will he be shit as well?

do your research (i know you're good at it) and show me where i've said he's shit? I've said he's done fuck all or played shit. he's not shown me anything to say why he should get time in front of,say, kelechi who has actually scored and set up goals, even when he's only been on the pitch for a few minutes.

he's been absolutely shit...........
He hasn't been shit - he was excellent in one game he came on. He's hardly had a chance to shine. He's not a striker like Kelechi, so you wouldn't expect him to score goals when he comes on for a cameo....he's a winger, told to hug the touchline - a la Navas, Sterling etc.
Nolito has had loads more opportunities - and he's been bang average and stupidly got sent off in one game and could easily have been sent off again for a head-to-head incident.
I'm happy to give Sane time and not judge him just yet.
But whether you think "he's shit" or "been shit".....both views are equally harsh - IMO.

I understand that - and he'll probably struggle to shift Sterling or Nolito and now TLMLF into a starting spot, however, to call him out so soon, with him having hardly any game-time, I think is harsh.
Who knows, give him 3-4 starts and we may see the reason why Pep wanted him so badly and City paid so much money for him.

Re: Burnley vs City - Live Thread
Maybe we havn't bought all the players pep requires to bring out the best in sane yet? I have been noticing how Moses is doing brilliantly at Chelsea with a new manager that rates him highly rather than the last 3 years being out on loan. Conte has brought in a couple of players & Moses looks like a new player, Similar to our situation with Sterling. I don't think pep would spend 40 million on sane if he was not in his long term plans? He even tried to sign him for Bayern last year & was quoted as saying he was one of the most exciting young talents in the Bundesliga. High praise for a shit player?

"He's shit".....
When questioned on why he's shit, you said....
"No, I didn't mean he's shit, I meant he's been playing shit - two different things"
Sort of reminds me of a clip I'll be showing to my pilot delegates tomorrow - on, of all things, COMMUNICATION - and in particular, Ambiguity:

It wasn't meant to be taken 'literally'...hence my video....but OK, you've never said Sane was shit, used the shit word, thought he was shit, pretended he was shit or remotely intended to refer to his footballing abilities, as shit.

He's had 9 chances this season. How many more does he need? Like Rich, I'd have Navas before him in the team.
At least with Navas you aren't disappointed because you know he's shit rather than playing shit.

Re: Burnley vs City - Live Thread
Den said Sterling was shit - last season. He's been one of our better players this season and won POTM award! They are still young and especially Sane, he's moved to a new league, new manager etc - so he should be given time before he's judged on his sparse appearances.
He may turn out to be shit - but I'm happy to wait until he's played 4-8 games from the start - then I'll have an objective opinion of his ability - but until then, I'll reserve judgement on him.
