£100m to spend
Roberto Mancini wants another £100m to spend in the summer.
Questions:
1) Will he be here to spend it?
2) Who would be sold from our current squad - and approximate fee?
3) Who would you buy - with any profit from sales + £100m.
I'll start:
1) Only if we qualify for the CL. Even with a trophy - without 4th, he'll be sacked.
2) I would sell the following players:
Bellamy - cash plus player deal with Spurs - Bellamy + £15m for Defoe.
Tevez - wouldn't sell him, but think he will go - £50m
Bridge - £6m
Balotelli - £20m
Jo - £7m
Barry - £7m
SWP - £5m
K Toure - £8m
There will be more, but i'm thinking of key players in the squad.
Money in - approx £103 less the £15m for Defoe = £88m
Add that to £100m that Mancini wants = £188m
Players in:
Defoe - £15m from above
Gary Cahill - £20m
Gael Clichy - £12m
Scott Parker - £20m
Naymar - £20m
Lucas (S Paulo) - £20m
Snjeider - £25m
Rodwell - £25m
Benzima - £30m
Total = £172m - Defoe already being linked with the total figure left to spend.

Re: £100m to spend
I wouldn't send Mancini out to get me pie and chips unless he was using his own money. £50 Million on Yaya and Balotelli.
Re: £100m to spend
15m + Bellamy for Defoe?? I'm glad you ain't my accountant blueboy.Defoe is Tom Kite and isn't good enough for us imho.Dzecko will be a City god next season.
I hope RM is still with us, as it will mean we will have reached our minimum objectives and stop the managerial merry go round.
Don't think Barry will go, but agree with most of the rest, if not their valuations.
Don't think that getting rid of Balotelli and signing Neymar would be a good idea, he is supposed to be about as mad as him. We are supposed to be after Alex Sanchez who is a creative MF, Sneijder would be good, think we will look at the defence especially LB. If Madrid sign Ade, maybe we could get Higuain? Lets all wait and see and enjoy the ride.

Defoe has scored 1 PL goal this season I think, so no thanks
Jo for £ 7 million, Bridge for £6 million. You on acid?
We'll be lucky to get £3 million for the pair of em
Out of your list of players in, the only one I would want is Sneijder

Wouldn't mind getting money back for yaya and swapping for Scott Parker

Re: £100m to spend
Defoe far too hit and miss, this season, more the latter one.
Need to bring in a CB, LB, creative mid, and a couple of squad players.
Get rid of Ade, Toure x2, Bridge, Bellamy, Given, think Tevez will leave, SWP, Balotelli, Jo
Hold on to Barry.

Re: £100m to spend
Come on guys - Defoe has been injured!
Barry had an excellent game last night for England, but all too inconsistent for us, and with DeJong, will he be happy sitting on the bench? Do we really need 2 DMF's?
Great to see 4 City players on the pitch - even though Lescott looked like he couldn't control a ball and distribute it, if he had 20 minutes to think about it - and poor marking for the goal.
As for "on acid"? Hmmm - maybe i was!!

Nah Defoe wouldn't be a good signing for us I don't think. All depends if Tevez leaves really...
But I'd go for Ashley Young, a keeper for cover, a LB someone like Heinze, and a CB. Sneijder would be a quality signing. Bring back Weiss from Rangers aswell.

Re: £100m to spend
I would definitely keep bellamy allthough it appears the majority want Rid. my reasons are (a) proven premier league player (b) will always give 100%.
(c) would be a very handy squad player when we will most probably be playing 3 games a week . He can give us another option in terms of playing wide on either flank or speed thru the centre. I know he wouldn't last 3 games a week but that is the beauty of the situation, he wouldnt be expecting to play 3 games and we wouldn't have to offer a long term contract. season by season.
i have re run some of the games we played towards the end of last season and Bellamy was right up amongst our best players, considering every reporter said he had fallen out with mancini he certainly earnt his wages. I dont see what benefit getting rid of lescott would be to city unless we sign a couple of centrebacks, especially in the light of the kolo fiasco. we may be without his services for some considerable amount of time. The only Centreback i would be happy with Is Mertesecker that giant german guy that Arsenal were reportedly lookin at.Cahill maybe ok but i can't help thinking he his being bigged up by the british press because there really are not to many decent looking centre halves about currently, and as his name is bandied about so supporters jump on the bandwagon.
i would like us to keep boyata and mould him into a centreback Vinnie seems to think a lot of him and he has only just made the step up from eds to first team. If we let him go now i am sure he will flourish with someone else and we will be looking enviously at what might have been. we do need a decent partner for Dzeko especially if tevez leaves and also a creative midfielder to offload some of the expectancy on Silvas shoulders.
Anyway that is my tuppence worth for what it is worth. Cheers

Agree with you Oz about the press bigging up English players and the fact that they cost about twice as much with them being English.
I agree about Boyata, i think he will make up in to a really good CB in the coming years.
