Heard Michael Gray on TS saying he's been watching him all season with his work in Qatar, as they show the French League out there...and he said "he's worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY"....another year in France and you'd be up in the £150m region...he's that good.

Surely we could sell enough players to generate some more cash for a couple of buys over & above your list.

Fernando, Mangala, Nasri, Bony , Hart, Clichy, Delph , Toure, Nolito, & possibly iheanacho. aswell as some which may come out of the blue like a couple of the kids maybe players like Unal, Ntcham etc. Hopefully Bravo.....that's at least 100,million or thereabouts.

I would be inclined to keep Delph or Fernando Delph probably for the home grown status.

Sadly, we'd only get about £70M in a fire sale (and Toure is out of contract). I can't see us selling Iheanacho and Unal yet. I think Bravo will end up as back up next season.

Good point. I think they structure it differently now with more performance related bonuses, but a lower base rate. Fans always focus on the we bought x player for x number of millions then forget about the wage bill.

Yaya (£200k)
Nasri (£150k)
Sagna (£100k)
Zabba (£100k)
Bony (£90k)
Hart (£100k)
Nolito (£70k)
Clichy (£80k)
Mangala (£100k)
Fernando (£70K)

That's well over £1M per week. One problem is that I reckon we'll keep subsidising the wages of some players. For Joe's loan, we are paying £90k out of his £100k per week wages!!!

£300M is simply 5 x £60M. We just need £60M 'spare' every year to be able to take a £300M hit in transfers as the total is amortised over the life of player contracts. Basically, only 20% of the transfer fee hits the profit and loss account each year.

Let's say, for example, we need the following players:

Mbappe - £100m
Bonucci - £50m
Walker - £50m
Mendy - £50m
B Silva - £60m
Neuer - £60m
PEA - £70m

That's £500m realistically...because that's how much these players will probably cost.

I can't see us getting all of these type of quality players, even if we could afford them. Even with an offset of Dawg's £70-100m from the sales of the deadwood....and all of these players will expect to start if they are commanding these transfer fees, which means there will be 2 or 3 going to miss out and sat on the bench.

For example, and again, this is just pure fantasy football, we got those above:

Neuer
Vinny, Bonnuci, Stones
Walker, B.Silva, D.Silva, Mendy
KDB, PEA, Mbappe

That means leaving out:

Sterling
Sane
Aguero
Jesus
Fernandinho
TLMLF (if he stays)

Just for starters.

I can only see the following:

x1 RB
x1 LB
x1 MF
x1 Keeper
x1 CB (possibly)

I really can't see us going for PEA or Mbappe for ridiculous money and dropping the likes of Sane, Silva or Sterling, plus Aguero and Gabriel.

I can only see defensive re-enforcement's this summer and a keeper....possibly one other MF player.

I kind of agree bluey. No way would we get Mbappe and PEA, especially if Sergio stays.

In terms of top quality players, I see us getting 2FBs, 1CB, 1 keeper, 1 MF and 1 attacker.

I think anyone else will be a 'filler' or 'for the future'

I still don't get this dropping of players. They all come with the realization it is a squad game with around 60 to 70 games per season. Not withstanding injuries suspensions etc. I noticed for instance last night Lyon v Ajax Laccazette was on the bench for Lyon, everybody saying how good he is & who am I to argue, but if he is so good then why didn't he start especially as Ajax won 4-1. But it is argued that he is a squad member. I'm sure he would have played his fair share this season but not always a starter, which is why I
think that playing every game is a not a matter of utmost importance. It is more knowing you are in the squad & will get game time especially when we have 3 games a week & playing for a team fighting for trophies on all fronts.

That Shalke full back that we are linked with kolasinac, has anyone seen him play & if so how good is he. Apparently it is between us Arsenal or AC Milan for his signature. 23 years old and out of contract so we
