2 mid week games
I know the 4th spot is in our own hands and we shouldn’t be looking for other peoples results, but let’s face it we do all the same. Like most City fans I will be hoping that Newcastle win and if not at least manage a draw with United tonight. Not for the usual ABU reasons but because it will hold out a glimmer of hope for Arsenal when they play the Spuds tomorrow night.
I know the argument that if there’s nothing to play for Arsenal might relax and actually start winning again but I still think they will play harder if they still have United in their sights.
Yes it’s up to us to pull our finger out and hope to forget about finals etc. but I will take any advantage going for that top 4 place.

Re: 2 mid week games
you're making an assumption that Arsenal don't care about beating Tottingham much...
I think they would be sent out fired up for that game if they already had their holidays booked..

Re: 2 mid week games
Hopefully we can go on a run now and put 4th place to bed so we have no need for a decider against the free scoring spuds.
Reading about the players arguing at half time on saturday was a bit of a concern because it sounded like they weren't all up for it in the first half and they were pretty crap first half hour.So if the management can't get them motivated and really up for it in a game like that and it takes I suspect de Jong zabaleta and kompany to do the job for them, then questions should be asked.
I've seen us lose/draw games this season(wolves away,Liverpool away spring to mind) when we've just been outbattled and not motivated enough and until that is sorted out we'll never challenge for the title.
First job now is to go and hammer Blackburn on Monday

I think their fans definately care Moonchester, I'm not 100% convinced that the players do though. They are serial bottlers and any excuse not to perform comes easily too them. Thats why I think that if their is still a chance Wenger is more likely to fire them up than let them role over for the Spuds.

Re: 2 mid week games
If Arsenal can't get fired up against their local rivals tomorrow night ESPECIALLY after throwing away a 2-0 lead against them at the Emirates to lose 3-2 earlier in the season they've got massive problems and it begs the question why aren't we above them in the table?

With both Arsenal & Spuds playing the most exciting free flowing football ever to grace planet earth we are surely in line for a mouthwatering 5:5 spectacular
It has to be the best game played ever
