Allocation/tickets for final
With Wigan failing to sell their allocation for the semi, will they get less of a share for the final?
I think the allocations are about 25k per team so we will have many thousands missing out (season ticket holders around 36,000).

Re: Allocation/tickets for final
Why would the allocations be less for the Final than the Semi, that just doesn't make sense does it.
City should get a better % of tickets than Wigin, but I don't really know how these things work.

More tickets go to 'friends' of the FA. The allocation falls from 30-32,000 to 25,000. Wigan will find the extra 5,000 fans for the final though.

So, 50,000 tickets go to the fans, yet 40,000 go to the FA.....I knew the FA kept some to themselves but 40 fuckin thousand .

Re: Allocation/tickets for final
They give them to grass roots so they say and sponsors etc (as well as those that are held by members of club wembley).
I suggest they offer free tickets for the community shield (which hardly sells out anyway) to these 'friends' and save about 70,000 tickets for the finalists. That should see most clubs happy.

Re: Allocation/tickets for final
We got allocated 26000 tickets, and I've bought two of them! Hello overdraft, my old friend...
But that number is crap, we sold ten thousand more than that for the semi. Wigan are getting 21000, but could get 4000 more if needed. Odds are, those 4000, if not claimed, will be used to create a "neutral" area. Like 40000 neutrals aren't enough.

Fuck me it's a poor do if they can't sell 25000 for the FA Cup Final against City.....I reckon even Bury could somehow must enough locals to sell that amount....then again .

Re: Allocation/tickets for final
Have you seen what Wigan have been allocated?
http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/news/article/13-04-17-ticket-details-fa-cup-final-776729.aspx
Look at that map, they don't even have a whole end! And just one block of the expensive £115 tickets, which we got six blocks of and they're already sold out. They've sold out the cheap seats up in the gods, but theirs are on general sale already and we're still working through the cup scheme and loyalty points requirements!
That said, most of their fans can't arse themselves travel the 40 miles to our place on a Wednesday night, so I can't see them selling out here either.

City have now been given an extra 5,779 tickets for the final......spookily, that's the exact number of tickets Wigan have sold

Re: Allocation/tickets for final
Just waiting for 9 0'clock to, hopefully, buy my ticket.
At least this means most season ticket holders will be able to get a ticket if they want to.

Nice one Dawg! I got mine yesterday after wondering if they'd sell out over the weekend.

Re: Allocation/tickets for final
I was just shy of the 2,500 points and even thought about buying a couple of tickets to the Swansea game to get over the threshold. Then they released the extra tickets so I saved myself £80 on tickets that I wouldn't have used anyway. It'll go towards my hotel and train instead.
Can't wait. There will be at least 4 goals in that game.

Depending on how many tickets the club keeps back for players/staff etc. I can see tickets still being available at the weekend.

Things could be worse, you could be a Chelsea/Benfica fan. They've both been given just 9,800 tickets each for the Europa Cup final, in a stadium that holds 53,000.

That really is taking the piss. They should just decide not to turn up. Threaten those tossers at UEFA until they give their fans something like 20k each.

I wonder how many tickets the club held back as I couldn't see 30k being sold by today.

Re: Allocation/tickets for final
That's about right. 33,000 tickets for disinterested parties is less than the 40 odd thousand for the FA Cup final. So much for the sport being about the fansshakencity wrote:Things could be worse, you could be a Chelsea/Benfica fan. Re: Allocation/tickets for final
Had to turn down a ticket, because my wife had claimed that day (before the semi) for her mates wedding, so I will be left looking after my 3 year old.... trying to locate 2 tickets together at a reasonable price so I can take my boy, everytime he sees Wembley, he says 'take me there daddy!" but I think it will be a bit too much to fork out, and will just have to take him to a City game next season.....!

If all else fails, Beware, it's on ITV. And now they've made it a 3:15 kick-off it'll be on early enough for the young chap to stay awake and enjoy it.
Hopefully, it won't be our last trip to Wembley!

You could go to city square and watch it there with other fans.
I think the kick off is 5.15 Leo!
