City vs Palace
I don't want us underestimating Palace as Tony Pulis has them playing as a team and, more importantly, getting results. They don't score many (watch them score a few against us!) so we should be looking at 3 points and maybe resting a few players.
The first 12 days in January have 4 very important matches and they may well be tougher than the Palace match (Swansea away, Blackburn away, West Ham at home and Newcastle away).
Should the team selection against Palace have one eye on the Swansea match?
Hart
Zabba, Kompany, Lezza, Kolarov
Yaya, Fernandinho
Navas, Nasri, Milner
Negredo
If Palace hadn't improved of late I'd have had Dzeko and Rodwell, maybe even Garcia !

Is Negredo Injured as he limped off against Liverpool & on the tunnel cam had an Ice pack on the back of his lower calf / ankle ?

Re: City vs Palace
Dawg i expect us to win all of the first 3 easily and the last one away to Newcastle will be the toughest of the bunch but i expect at least a draw at St James Park. Having said that, a lot depends on the team selecions and although we have strength in depth i am worried that Garcia is still being used and Milner is still being used minimally. Jovetec, Rodwell and Milner should be used against West Ham and Blackburn.

Don't think it was anything serious as he went straight to the bench. Suspect it was a knock, more than a strain...plus, on Tunnel Cam, he spent ages afterwards, chatting to the opposition players...if it was serious, he'd have been in the treatment room....still doesn't mean to say he won't play Dzeko on his own though, with Nasri, Milner and Silva behind him.

Re: City vs Palace
Rest Negredo, start with numbnuts (Dzeko) and flood the midfield, we have more than enough attacking threat there to deal with Palace.
Nasri in for Negedo on blueboys team.

Re: City vs Palace
read that pellegrini has hinted no zabba. I bloody hope he doesn't play clichy at right back again. It doesn't matter how good or bad the opposition is we don't want to be handing them incentives.

Re: City vs Palace
Zabba came back from injury early, he said it was a big risk so maybe he needs that break. 2 games in 2 days off the back of an injury you returned early from is asking for a serious injury.

Re: City vs Palace
Should have added that Pellegrini also hinted that there maybe a place on the bench for Jovetic so that would dispel the hamstring injury theory blue.

Well, we wouldn't be City if we didn't have an expensive waste of a striker who was a manager's favourite...blueboy wrote:Bloody Jovetic is now out with a hamstring injury!!! This fellas going to be our Djemba Djemba FFS !!

Re: City vs Palace
JA606 board seem to think we'll make at least 4 or 5 changes...
I just don't see it. Why take this game any different than any other? Swansea being the reason....sorry, but for me...it should be the strongest possible squad bar Zaba - don't want to risk him.

Let's not fuck up the chance to go top....and score plenty more goals...
Guidetti can get a chance, Yaya, Silva, Negredo and Nasri can be rested after we have bagged a hat full.
