Going forwards ok, but need some clinical finishing. Overall, defensively ok too, but sill free kicks given away and occasionally all over the place.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
Silva's a genius....scored 4 goals lately, but doesn't shoot enough when inside the box. He's been as guilty as Jovetic (who is wank ), difference is, Silva on the ball is simply a joy to watch.

Navas....will always be a 'nearly' player. His pace keeps the likes of Baines occupied, but his distribution and shooting are woeful.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
If we can just cut out the extra pass and if Jovetic can somehow find the right run, without being offside all of the time, we could be in a few times this second half - but alas, I get the feeling we may have to see a 'not fully fit' Aguero at some point.

Also....the pitch looks like a Sunday morning park pitch....rarely seen a ball bobble about as much.

Shit ball from Jovetic when we should have scored. Get him off.

Jovetic should have done better. Good defending from Stones. Maybe Mangala could watch the tape...

Aguero coming on. Jovetic's fault if he gets injured.

Absolute shit pass from Navas. Unless he meant it to go to Lukaku.

No-one went with Naismith and Hart had to get there first if he was coming.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
The person incharge of signing Mango should be sacked.
I watched a few games of him before we signed him and I wasn't impressed.
I am still not impressed.
My worry is that he will never improve and we have wasted 32m on crap in these hard times.

We've just not been good enough. We've had enough chances.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
Hold on....injury time and we make a sub at 1-1? WTF??
Silly mistake from Hart and also the 2 CB's.
The sooner we get Vinny back the better...not one player was picking Naismith up...and what Hart was doing coming for that?? Guess that was comes of having 2 poor English speakers as CB's.
The old...game of two halves. As good as we were at pressing in the first half, we were equally shite at it in the second.
I would like to ask one question though.....WHAT THE FUCK does he see in Navas that we don't?
He's piss poor at pretty much everything he does. If he had no pace, I'd liken him to Adam Johnson.....headless chicken who looks at the ground consistently when he runs.
Silva sublime...and Aguero looked a million miles off the pace when he came on.
Fernandinho and Fernando look like two ships passing in the night when they play together....two fuck off cargo containers that is. Clueless as to who sits, who goes forward.
Think we missed Milner massively today. Nasri looked great in the first half, but sort of lost his way in the second.
Still, we'll have to take a point.....but MP needs to be rearranging his squad effectively, as he too set in his playing styles when things aren't working.
Overall...good first half, very, very sloppy second.

Good points Bluey. I don't like Navas and hate Mangala.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
I know you do...but I honestly don't think he was that bad today. The problem we have is this.....we have 2 CB's who don't speak English very well.
Look at the best CB paring in the PL....Terry and Cahill.
At least Vinny is our Captain and speaks perfect English. I really don't think it helps when you watch the likes of DeM and Mangala giving interviews in their respective mother-tongue. DeM has been here for ages now, so it's no excuse.

The problem is we don't take our chances but on the flip side we let in silly goals from just a little pressure or one or two chances by crap struggling teams.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
I agree PG. We had a few really good chances in the first half and couldn't even hit the target. Mango got turned far too easily and let players cut inside to get a shot off. I counted 4 times and I only watched about 70 odd minutes. And he can't pass for toffee. He lacks control and doesn't enthuse any confidence. He'll never make it.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
I personally think you're wrong on Manga Dawg.
I think when he gets 10-12 games under his belt with Vinny next to him, he'll be fine.
His passing was 100x better than Fernandinho's in the first half alone...he was bloody awful.
Still, we all have our favourites and the ones we don't like.
For me, it's too early to be judging Manga until he's had a good run of games or a season in the PL.
He's only 21/22....DeM was as bad as a defender as I'd seen when he joined and he went on to play in a WC final due to his club form - and if anyone, he was piss poor today.
I'm happy to give Manga time, certainly until next season.
Time for our Captain to pull his finger out and get back fit...this seasons been an awful one for him...and the team at the back.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
thought mango was man of the match. Ok dawg only for your benefit, but really you do have a lot of hate for the guy. I really used to like Lezza and appeared in the minority defending him a lot of the time, I also see a lot of good stuff in Mango he will make mistakes like Demi did for 3/4 of last season, But from what iv'e seen I still think he will make a good signing for us long term. My beef today is the pussy footing about trying that intricate pass when a shot was all that was needed & follow it in for the scraps.
If Joe is going to come for a free Kick like that, then go whole heartedly & take Ball, Player & any one else in the near vicinity. Made some great stops for us but then when needed was 1/2 a yard slow. Finally Jovetic was ok. at least he tried to get shots away instead of trying the extra pass. As egards coming off I guess like anyone who is subbed it is disappointing especially when their were other candidates.

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
Agree with most there Oz....
However, what was apparent in the first half (as Jovetic was pretty non-existent in the 2nd), was that he has great ball control, great feet, but as a striker, he doesn't make the right runs. It summed it today when Aguero came on. He played one pass to Nasri (40yrds from goal) and turned his back and didn't even look at what Nasri was doing, not even giving him a chance to play it back to him, and went running straight to the edge of their area to occupy their CB's.
Jovetic just doesn't do that. He'll be happy running 'across' the pitch with the ball, or when he doesn't have it, making runs out wide, but he isn't a striker with a strikers mind or mentality.
His shooting is awful.
Now, I'm maybe being a little harsh, as I honestly don't think he's a No.9....maybe a No.10, but he's completely outclassed by the likes of Silva in that position.
He's had quite a few chances now, so no excuses any more for me. He's just not good enough as an out and out striker - and he's not good enough to replace Silva or Nasri in a No.10 role.
Today, we would have had more joy with Milner back up top.
Therefore, if he's not an out and out striker, and he isn't clearly good enough to replace our current No.10's...then in the summer he has to go and be replaced by someone who can play a natural role as a striker.
I can see many Italian clubs wanting him and maybe he's suited to the slowness of Serie A....but for £23m, I'd take a Charlie Austin, Danny Ings or dare I say Berahino, over him every day of the week.

Agree with those points Bluey. If it was Joleon making those mistakes, we'd have slated him. Jolo was good backup, English too. Maybe Mangala will make it but I'm not holding my breath. He gets caught out far too much and has difficulty controlling and passing the ball. If we are going to spend that sort of money, surely we should get the real deal

Re: Everton v City Live Thread
Let's be honest if we had taken our chances in the first half it would have been 3-1. Jovetic is a dead man walking and I think he knows that. Navas we all can't understand why he is first name on MPs team but we deal with it.
14 unbeaten in the league though, tough couple of games up next though, but win both those and we are top
