City vs Arsenal
Hart
Zabba, Kompany, Dimi, Clichy
Fernando, Fernandinho
Navas, Silva, Nasri
Milner
I don't care if Dimi is slow against Sanchez, he's more solid for me. Not bothered that Jovetic is fit and Sergio nearly fit. Milner did well enough for us when he was up top.

Re: City vs Arsenal
Sergio's had 40 mins already...really can't see him sitting this one out with an extra weeks training under his belt.

Tbh, i'd go with blues team...although i'm not convinced he'll start with Serge.

My preference would be for aguero to either be on the bench or for him to get 60 minutes

Serge to start and attack at pace from the off, go right at them and not the slow starts we seem to do.

Re: City vs Arsenal
Agree MCM. Go at em early on...all out. Get Navas to track Sanchez's runs when they have the ball.
Arsenal's defenders are slow and lethargic....Sergio can run em ragged behind the back of them...especially the big German lump.

mertesacker is far worse than Manga and serge would turn him inside out

Re: City vs Arsenal
all we need is for mangala to keep improving, his debut against Chelsea was good, all he needs is a few more games like that. We have seen he has the capabilities & despite what dawg thinks he is in my opinion improving week in week out, He will turn out to be a very good defender of that I am confident.

We'll have to disagree Oz. Getting turned four times in one game is way too much.

Re: City vs Arsenal
I''ll take Vinny's assessment after the Chelsea game "he'll need time":

Re: City vs Arsenal
I don't know... for some reason Mertesacker seems to do okay against us, even though he's a big pile of Merte against everyone else. Perhaps it's because we offer no aerial challenge.ManCityMan wrote:mertesacker is far worse than Manga and serge would turn him inside out
I also think we should save Serge for the second half. Get Arsenal's defence all knackered out, then bring Serge on to turn them inside out. That way he won't knacker himself trying to go past their fresh legs and getting crocked like he did last season.

Hart
Zabaleta Kompany Mangala Clichy
Fernando Fernandinho
Navas Silva Milner
Aguero
I'd play Navas and Milner as much for their defensive awareness as anything else,Clichy will need Milner to double up on Sanchez and not leave Mangala isolated like the lazy fuckwit Kolorov does and Nasri was very poor at Everton so time to take him out of the firing line,he's usually shocking against Arsenal anyway

I've got to agree with you there PPLF about Nasri. Your team looks mighty tempting.

Doesn't Sanchez get most of his goals/play from the left hand side?
I agree, Nasri isn't great tracking back, so Milner will always do a job on that side, but they are away from home...unless he unleashes Walcott on the right and Sanchez on the left....I'd have Nasri for his keep ball possession and they'd be frightened of him more than Milner - and we are at home, so should take the initiative if we are playing the Ferdy twins.
