Ronaldo - £65m.....Bale - £90m

I guess it's all to do with age. Ronaldo may only have 2-3 years left at the top. I'd still be interested because he'd attract other top players and our kids could learn so much from him. £65M is a bit if a steal.

Still say Ronaldo won't come to us...but if we don't try, the Rags will definitely get him and inturn we'll probably miss out on Bale.
We need a big signing, so imo we have to go all out for one of these two before anyone else does.

I agree Den, we desperately need at least one top signing. Who else, besides one of these two, could we realistically get though?

Pogba is a must...IF he doesn't sign for Real. That'll be the stumbling block....we could in theory fund Real's purchase of Pogba if we ever did manage to sign Ronaldo....so catch 22.

It would be some coup if we got Ronaldo and Pogba. Probably cost us £130m....but that would still leave £80m+ to upgrade the other positions.....surely a swap/cash deal with Juve that included TLMLF would be an attractive proposition??

I think this is going to come down to commercialism. Pogba is a sound bet as a player, but someone like Ronny is going to be so much more valuable in shirt sales and this is one of the areas where we're needing to expand. A City shirt with Ronaldo on the back will sell like mad. One with Pogba on the back, not so much.

Pogba and Ronaldo may cost us about £120M (£55M and £65M) which we could fund by the sales of Toure, Dzeko and Jovetic. I'd be disappointed if we couldn't get somewhere near £60M for that trio. De Bruyne (in place of Navas) would cost us a net £20M or so.

We'd still need a better LB though.

It's all dream land stuff.

If we had £200m+ to spend, it could feasibly look like this:

I still firmly believe we've got at least £150M available to spend (BT £30M, Etihad £40M, extra seats £10M etc.) if not well over £200M after we sell off a few players (Nasri, Yaya, Dzeko, Jovetic, Kolarov, Navas are worth £100M).

We'd also save a massive £700K p/w in wages which would go to ay the new players.
