So, if KdB signs....
as suggested, where is he expected to play...and will it alter the teams formation?
Am i to assume he's going to be a straight swap for Navas?

Probably a straight swap for Navas, yes. It'll be interesting to see if he gives us an extra dimension (and for that money, he better had do!) And if he's the Assist King he was in the Bundesliga, then perhaps we can look forward to seeing lots more goals.
I have to admit, silly money aside, an attack featuring Sterling, Silva and KdB sounds pretty tasty.

Navas would be worth double if he could cross the ball and take his man on (and beat him).

You mean, be the player we thought we'd signed?

We all knew he had pace to burn but he offers little else (except tracking back well most of the time). He's a one trick pony, but maybe Pellegrini has been happy with that tippy tappy passing backwards.

Tbh Dawg, i actually think Navas has done ok this season.Topdawg wrote:Navas would be worth double if he could cross the ball and take his man on (and beat him).
How many times has he pulled a ball back to Aguero, Yaya, Nasri, Silva, etc, etc only for them to balloon it over the bar or see the keeper pull off a top save?
He's hardly gonna cross the ball in the air for anyone is he...we ain't got anyone over 5ft 10" .
Ok, i accept it is frustrating when he hit's the defender, but the majority of the time it goes out for a corner anyway.
Bloody hell, thinking about it, we don't need KdB afterall .

De Bruyne is supposed to be an excellent finisher and a brilliant passer of the ball. 2 things Navas isn't, so I guess it'll be a straight swap.
However, one thing that is a slight concern for me, is that I'm not sure KDB is an out and out winger (like Navas). Our expansive play this season has been because of that width on either side.
It reminds me on what Neville and Carragher said on MNF after we beat Chelsea.

I'd much rather we spent the time teaching Navas to cross the ball (though he has improved over the summer), teach him how to tale a man on and teach him how to beat the goalie in a 1-2-1. That would have save us about £54M...

Re: So, if KdB signs....
I definitely think he's started better. I agree with what Den said, his cut-backs have created decent chances for Aguero.
However, he's had 4 top class one-to-one's with the keeper so far, and you would have expected him to take at least 2 of them.
I would hazard a guess, he gets those chances approx 20 times a season. If he takes at least 50% of them, that's 10 goals, which would be a great return for an out and out winger.
