KDB Injured..?
City watch have run with a story they "believe" KDB has suffered knee ligament damage in training. Potentially 8 weeks out.
the story has already been run in the Sun and the MEN quoting City watch as their source within 20 minutes of them posting it...

Re: KDB Injured..?
Well means Bernard will keep the role for the next few weeks at least, even when Silva is back...
Foden and Gundongan as understudies..?

Re: KDB Injured..?
One of the few players we’ve got that’s difficult to replace because he’s so much better at what he does than the rest. Thankfully we have a run of winnable games for the next couple of months so if it’s not too serious he’ll be back for the Liverpool game.

I'm in an unusually positive mood, and I prefer to see it as an opportunity for others to show their credentials. Plus Kev will come back nice and fit as the season is starting to pick up. This is what we have a strong squad for.

I'm with TBW on this, read and thought oh dear, glad Bernardo has started on fire. Happens to all teams but we should cope.

Re: KDB Injured..?
The press seem to all agree that he will be out for at least 3 months.
If that is correct he will miss the Dippers anf Rags matches.
Luckily we have strength in depth in the MF so it shouldn't be as bad as it first seems.

Re: KDB Injured..?
8-10 weeks seems to be the consensus. Will definitely miss the Dippers away, still a lot of winnable lower table teams in the first 8 weeks. A big loss, but we do have a lot of (if inferior) mid field options. An injury to Ferna would be worse this season. Maybe this will see Foden start a few games.

Re: KDB Injured..?
it will probably see Gundongan staying, at least until winter too..
I was thinking we could cash in for £20+ mil to Italy for him form early close season rumours.

Re: KDB Injured..?
I don’t see the point in cashing in on players in this market not if you have to replace them. I just read that the stats on Chelsea’s new goalkeeper, absolutely bang average on every metric from shot stopping to distribution, but at a world record price. If injuries like this demonstrate anything it’s the need for squad players who are happy to sit on the bench until called on. Delph is a prime example, what would we have done last season without him?

Re: KDB Injured..?
only because if we play 1 up top that is -
Aguero
Jesus
Sane (can do)
Bernardo (can do)
Sterling (can do)
Diaz (can do)
Then in the attacking midfield roles when we play 4 -
Sane
Silva
Bernardo
Sterling
KDB
Mahrez
Gundongan
Foden
Diaz
Zinchenko (can do)
Fernandinho (can do)
just a tad congested in that spot. this injury frees up a starting birth for one more though.
