Why flogging CT for £20M may be worth it
We all know that the diminutive wankstain is worth at least £40M and that is what he should have been sold for.
Getting rid of the sob for £20M may prove to be worth it for accounting reasons as well as footballing ones.
Not only will we swell our coffers by £20M, but we save over £10M a year in wages and we also save £7M-£8M in player amortisation (depreciation) each year.
We have to comply with these financial rules and even giving him away for free saves us nearly £20M a season in fair play terms. Amortisation isn't an expense; it is just writing off the value of a purchase (player) over the life of the purchase (contract).
Apparently we have written off the value of RSC, Bridge and a few others to zero, hence the exceptional item in the accounts (won't be repeated) of £31M.
That player amortisation may also influence longer contracts for players as the remaining book value can be amortised over a longer period meaning the annual amortisation is lowered.
This sort of stuff at least shows that our accountants are on the ball to all the ways to help us achieve the fair play targets.

I'm mortified that you've used the word amortisation..
