Chairman speaks on Tevez and AC Milan
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak
insists that striker Carlos Tevez will not be sold to AC Milan unless
they meet City's valuation.
The Italian champions want to sign Tevez but Premier League leaders City will only let him leave for their full asking price of £25m, plus add-ons.
"As things stand, AC Milan are not an option for Carlos," said Al-Mubarak.
"Unless we receive an offer we deem appropriate, the terms of his contract will be enforced."
Tevez's current deal does not expire until June 2014, but he has not played for City since 21 September.
Boss Roberto Mancini alleged that the Argentine refused to
come on as a substitute in September's Champions League defeat at Bayern
Munich six days later.
City and Tevez want his departure to be confirmed before the
end of the January transfer window, but the club are unwilling to reduce
their fee or let him leave on loan.
Tevez's preference is for Milan, but suggestions that a deal is close are inaccurate.
There has also been interest from Milan's rival's Inter and Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking on the subject for the first time, Al-Mubarak was
particularly critical of Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and his
club's conduct.
"Mr Galliani and his advisers have developed a misplaced
sense of confidence from their premature discussions with Carlos and his
advisers," he told The National newspaper in Abu Dhabi.
"If they want to be a consideration in this transfer window,
they would do better to stop congratulating one another and begin to
look at how they would meet our terms.
"Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain approached discussions
with us in good faith. It is always a positive experience to deal with
people with a professional approach."

Re: Chairman speaks on Tevez and AC Milan
At last - Well done Khaldoon. Expose AC for what they are and expose Tevez's advisors..."it's never been about the money"????? WTF??
Over to you Inter and AC Milan..otherwise, Tevez will be back training with the reserves......and fined an extortionate amount of money.

£9.3m was reported to be the fine blue.
Great statement of intent from the chairman, that should appease City fans fear of Tevez getting his own way.

Funny thing is, despite all this lost money, i still can't see an end to it. I can't see him being sold or loaned, yet i can't see him returning either.

Not motivated by money! Just wants to get back to playing football!! HAH!!! What a load of bollocks being spoken. If he truly meant that, he'd have taken the pay cut and gone to PSG when they came knocking.
We'll soon see how bothered about money he is when he finds out we're not going to pay him until he turns up for training. What are the odds he'll be there on Feb 1st?

And a fantastic dig at AC's MO without needing to directly slag them off. College, calm, class.

Re: Chairman speaks on Tevez and AC Milan
i don't think we are talking much difference in terms of money. We want £25+ (which means we'll get £25M max because of tevez/kia pushing other suitors away) and milan offering £20M.
it is astonishing that tevez has lost nearly £10M already.

He's basically said "you don't fuck with us" in the most measured and charismatic way I have ever seen.

Re: Chairman speaks on Tevez and AC Milan
While everyone in the media were going on about Tevez still being paid £200,000+ a week for an extended holiday, little did we all know his wage had been stopped in November!! Just show's City are trying to quietly go about their business, no that's class.

Re: Chairman speaks on Tevez and AC Milan
Indeed. I especially like the way he addressed Milan's attitude with such measured politeness. If that were me, I'd have said, "Look, don't go getting all cocky, you're paying what we ask or you can piss off."
And because this is the first time he's spoken out about anything related to us, it's got the added weight of a very patient man being driven to speak.
Looks like we've found that class that we're supposed to be missing!

Re: Chairman speaks on Tevez and AC Milan
The timing is perfect too. Kia Ora would have been expecting that with 6 days of the window left the only offer would be AC's loan deal and we would cave in.
This statement is perfect, slams that door shut and just says "Pay Up or Piss Off"
