season ticket - how much?
ok, watched only 6 games this year and missed others because of no ticket availability.
how much for a season ticket and what cup schemes should i be looking at and will i stand a chance of away tickets?
won't get to more than maybe a dozen games though

Last season's ticket prices are still up on the OS: http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Tickets-and-Membership/Memberships/Gold. You won't get in the family stand without a child, though. And odds are there's a queue now, so you might struggle to get one at all.
Cup schemes are free to join, but you'll be automatically charged for home game tickets. I strongly recommend the European scheme as you'll get CL tickets at a limited price (I think it was £25) regardless of who we play, up to and including the QFs. And if we drop out to the EL like we did this year, it switches over. All the cup schemes keep the ticket prices capped up till the last 8.
But if you're only looking at a handful of games, you'd be better off getting a Blue membership with priority ticket option, which in total is about £25. You'll struggle to get tickets, though.
As for away tickets, you'd best join an OSC, you've almost no chance through the loyalty scheme unless you've got more than 6000 points.

Season tickets sold out last season and I think it will be a struggle to get one unless the prices rocket this season as you would expect the majority to renew.I don't think there is a waiting list though
Away tickets, when allocation is 3000 and under, the loyalty points needed are over 7000

Very true. The only league away game I could get tickets for was Wigan, and that's because our allocation was 5500, it was on a Monday night in January and because, well, it's Wigan
