Season Ticket Holder Banned for Smoking an E-Cig

They've banned these on all aircraft as well. Maybe City were following suit. The reason behind the banning of them on aircraft is the fact that the tip glows red - and this can give other people the impression that somebody is smoking a normal cig, so they think it's acceptable and light up.

Maybe City have taken the same stance.

City say they are looking into the issue, but with the typical season
ticket costing around £1000, the supporter better hope he gets it back…

If you're not allowed to smoke on the concourse, then he's no excuse....real or not...for being escourted off the premises.

Does seem an extreme measure to confiscate his season ticket though.

I can't really see them confiscating his season ticket for that. maybe there is a little more to the story.

The terms and conditions of entry are that nobody is allowed to smoke anywhere in the stadium, including the ramps and walkways around the concourse. And it includes e-cigarettes.

Which is stupid, because e-cigs don't create litter or dangerous fumes or bad smells or pose a fire hazard.

But don't they emit fake smoke? It might not be tobacco smoke but somebody next to you could still find it unpleasant or annoying although it would not bother me at all. It seems a bit of an over reaction if that is the only 'offence' committed.

Yeah, they do emit some form of "smoke", although it's supposed to be water vapour more than actual smoke. And yes, it's still a bit irritating.

Sure i've seen people smokin at half time in the "open air bits" near the toilets........between the concourse and the toilets near the stairs.

Oh, yeah, they all do it Shaken. They aren't supposed to and they'll get chucked out if they're caught. But what does anyone expect? They can't get pass-outs and even if they did, they'd have to go to the car park or onto the main road to avoid the regulations.
