London 2012
On the eve of the London Olympic Games I wish all the British athletes good luck - I will be watching and cheering you on. When the games were out for bid - there was no hint of a recession - and so comments like the money spent on the games could be put to better use - is redundant - who was to know that the global economy would tank. Our athletes have been training hard since Bejing. I shall be supporting you.

Hopefully the Limpix will be a much needed big boost for the UK economy
Strangely enough after having little to no interest in cycling, the Tour de France win for Wiggo has changed all that & I am looking forward to the cycling more than any other sport

Re: London 2012
I even watched 5 minutes of the womens footy yesterday .
Quick mention to the Brilliant Scots for cocking up the Korean flags...........priceless!(sorry MCM).
I too am looking forward to the Cycling now Tony, along with the Athletics of course. For some reason i have NO interest whatsoever in the Footy (didn't even want to watch the friendly against Brazil).
Roll on the proper football season i say.

Re: London 2012
Watched as much of Le Tour as I could, great for getting the little one off for his afternoon nap!, by the end I had him cheering on Cavendish's sprint for the line on the Champs Elysees! been cycling on roads/ off road for over 30 years, great way of getting away from it all, unfortunately in London, unless you live outside the capital itself, there's not much chance of that!! luckily I live in Harrow, and there's enough green and quiet little roads to do that.
Talking of the Olympics, we had the torch here yesterday morning, just round the corner in Headstone Manor, so I had to take the little one to see it, as I know I'll never get the chance again!
I wasn't looking forward to the Olympics, even tho' I'm a keen sportsfan and usually watch the Olympics, just the way it's all been handled, costing the taxpayer, the tickets, the G4S cock up, the nazi-ish sponsors it'd got me quite anti corporate, but now it's here, the suns finally out, I'm getting quite excited about it!
Just been talking to my brother about the price of tickets for City home games, cheapest now is £40-£50, while last season you could get one for £20, I usually go to a few games when I visit up-north but £50 is a bit too much for me unless it's a big game.

It's fairly painful watching the women's footie - they just can't play like men and are worse than non-leagers - LOL. Shall be tuning in today - hopefully to see Micah get a good game. I like all the events except weightlifting and boxing - so it will occupy my viewing time until the footie season gets underway.

Den - it was a London video sent to the Scots - so you can't blame them. Joe Allen listed as "English" - another gaffe - but I'm sure Joe Allen didn't stomp off the pitch like the N Koreans did. An honest mistake - and blown out of all proportion.

Re: London 2012
the only interesting thing about watching women's footy is the swapping of shirts at the end of the match.
I, too, dislike all this corporate stuff and how we, as a country, have to bow down to the IOC/FIFA/UEFA if we want to hold events here.
