Trust the Fail to link to footage of the actual crash. How crass
But this is the sort of crash that F1 drivers can survive nowadays, thanks to the tremendous leaps in safety. It's good that we can see footage of Sutil completely unharmed and that we're all hoping Bianchi makes it through such a horrific crash. It's not that long ago we'd be wishing Sutil a speedy recovery, whilst mourning Bianchi.

Yeah, it's really unbelievable how he survived. You can just work out the heights of his head and the trucks rear...and you can imagine the rest.
Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

TBF, it's in all of the online papers today Leo.
Incredible how lucky he was....5 yrds to the left and it would be all over. Maybe the head injury was caused from the impact with the wall beyond the tractor. 100mph head on, with a car that can look as though it would fall apart...and he's still alive shows how technology has made these cars so much safer.

Horrendous accident. Those men are either brave or stupid. Probably both.

That's part of the draw of the sport, it's dangerous. But it used to be a lot more dangerous. Remember, thirty years ago, both Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger were both killed in accidents in the same weekend at Imola. If they'd have been racing today, they'd still be here to tell the tale.

Yep...however, it comes to something when Massa is on the radio calling for the race to be stopped as he can't control the car, yet they allow it to continue another few laps before the safety car came out for the first crash.
You have to ask yourself, when they knew the day before that the Typhoon was forecast for the start of the race, why they didn't move it 2 hours earlier...then even start with a safety car.
I know TV etc has a part to play, but it wouldn't take much with 24 hrs notice to reschedule the TV listings.

Actually, that's true. Massa has shown he's perfectly capable of binning his Williams without any outside influence this season.
They really should've rescheduled. It's still too dangerous a sport to make errors in judgement of this magnitude.

Bad news, it's not looking good for Bianchi. Rumour is 90% brain damage.
Hope a miracle comes along.
