Harry Redknapp has opened up a touch on the possibility of taking Emmanuel Adebayor back to north London.

Now that's something you might never have dreamed of reading a while back, but "it's a funny old game, Saint", as one prolific former Spur used to say quite a lot.

The Mirror's Darren Lewis has a couple of pieces on the subject this morning: "A loan deal to rescue Adebayor from his exile at Manchester City - and give Tottenham's front line a massive injection of quality - is understood to be virtually complete" says the first. He goes on at greater length in an opinion piece to add:

"...suddenly there is stardust on the chances of Spurs breaking back into the top four.

"Because if - sorry, when - Harry Redknapp signs Emmanuel Adebayor, Tottenham will once again have a front line to compete with the very best in the Premier League."

Another City striker said to be on the cusp of a move is Roque Santa Cruz, but to where? Elland Road has emerged as one possible destination for the affable Paraguayan, with the Mail reporting:

"Championship clubs have been alerted that Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz is willing to drop down a division to revive his career.

"His father Aproniano Cruz said: There are important teams like Leeds United, but his future will be decided by Manchester City.’"

Nedum Onuoha and Shaun Wright-Phillips feature in a catch-all article on the Mail's web site, with the former linked with Everton and Blackburn, and the latter said to be a target of Paris St Germain and QPR.

The prospect of Carlos Tevez leaving City has moved off the radar a touch of late, and Inter Milan's president Massimo Moratti is quoted on ESPN as saying, in terms of who would step in for Samuel Eto'o "Will Tevez be the replacement? I don't think we will get him."

Thought SWP was supossed to be off to Wanky? Can't really see him going to QPR or to PSG, but if the bunce in his pay packet suits, then who knows.

It's good that these 4 or 5 players are moving on (hopefully), not only for themselves but the clubs finances aswell.

I think SWP would have benifited from a few seasons abroad but it may be a little late in his career to improve him. Still it might be a good experience for him though personally I would prefer to see Weiss there on loan.

Ned would do well at Everton (and come back to haunt us) but unless they get investment or sell Jag to Arsenal I cant see that happening. Its strange that Arsenal want Jag and Everton want Ned considering Wenger prefers younger players to develop. Neds ony 21 or 22 isnt he?

Could Ned not be loaned to Everton (or do City just want to sell?), this way a clause can be inserted saying he couldn't play against us Laughing , i agree though lee, it would be a good move for him.

Wenger possibly wants experience at the back (with Varmaelan), as the rest of his side are kids. As you say though, it is strange, as Wenger could have always aked for Ned to be part of the Nasri deal.........anyway.

Ned had a good season at Sunderland last year so he's got quite a bit of experience at a young age....could we insert a buy back clause ala fab deal?

if SWP does go to PSG, I'll go and cheer him on in a game or two.
