Thinking the unthinkable Empty Thinking the unthinkable

3 games ago it would never have been asked, at the end of last season it was and still is for some a definate worry but just thinking the unthinkable, were does Nigel fit into this team ...or with the Kia connection does he?

His contract was being negotiated and he was bieng advised by Kia but his value is going down not up as City are proving that no one player is indispensible. Personally I hope we give him a big fat payrise BUT in the context of his position. If we offer £70,000 and the going rate, no matter how good a player is is £50,000 and he still holds out then its time to see if he can find a club that can offer him better than city can. Yes we should reward good service but we also have to have an eye on the bills.

When Mancini was asked last year "why we play defensive on occasions" he replied "we don't have the players"... I truly believe him now!

Agree that DeJong's value is going down just ny us scoring for fun and conceding not many but I think without DeJong against top opposition in the CL we will get exposed.

I think the chances that our opposition have created and not scored we have been lucky, but watching the rag game I think they are even luckier not to concede.

DeJong is definitely one of a kind, no player like him in the premier league, he destroys movements! We should give him what he wants in my opinion, he has kept his head down, worked hard and said the right things vice-captain for me. I don't know if the kia relation is true but all he has said is that it will be sorted and theres is nothing to be worried about...

maybe bobby thinks that yaya and barry offer a decent DM job whilst still being able to set up and support attacks if need be. m

may be he is giving up a little on the defensive side to increase the attacking side.

I agree Dawg, with Nasri here now Yaya and Barry fill the defensive duties well but I still think NDJ has a big part to play this season and needs to be kept, he's just not needed as much as in the past.
Squad rotation's going to be used alot now and players will have to get used to this (baring Yaya of course), who'd have thought Dzeko'd get dropped after scoring 4 last week?

Shaken I prefer the term rested simply because he played 2 internationals and all our games while Tevez had a rest and Aguera played in friendlies without the competative edge.

Edin was definately rested and I'd bet my life savings on him starting on Wednesday.

Bobby used the game to assess Tevez, who I think will come on as a late sub against Napoli.
