£30M funding for elitist sports? 

No thanks. Pay for your ducking self or get private/crowd funding.

Do the summer Olympic athletes get funding....if they do, so should the winter ones?

The summer ones get an absolute shedload of funding (and they bring a better medal haul per £).

But wonder sports are an elitist sport. I read somewhere that we have only 130 people that take part in one particular winter sport in the whole country. That's the sum of it. And I feel that it's elitist. 

With most athletics, you can train and practice with very little equipment and very little money (to start off with).

For winter sports, you simply cannot do that. You ned money from the getgo. Funding 4 months training in the Swiss Alps certainly doesn't;t come cheap.

I took my eldest lad to the Chill Factor last week and it's over £100 a day for lessons. He could probably join an athletics club for that very same amount for a year, training twice a week.

Basketball is supposed to be the 3rd most participated sport in this country (after footy and cricket) yet it gets no funding whatsoever especially at grass roots level. 

And the Olympics were a waste of money. Where is the legacy? The Olympic Stadium isn't used for top class sport anymore.
