MP's dilemna with English players

MP stated that it's very hard to sign English players of quality without paying inflated prices.

We have the following:

Hart - staying
Richards - ?
Lescott - going
Milner - should stay
Rodwell - ?
Sinclair - on loan

Of these, we could lose Richards, Lescott, Rodwell and Sinclair in the summer, which leaves us with Hart and Milner.

Who else could we promote as HG players?
Could Guidetti come back and fill a spot?

If the above players do go...which I expect 3 of 6 to definitely go....then we may need to purchase some English talent, in addition to one or two top class foreigners.

If so...these are the players I would go for:

Lallana and Shaw - Rodwell and Sinclair could be offered as part of a swap/cash deal. We'd probably be looking at a deal in excess of £40m, less £10m for our players.

That would bump up our English contingent to 5+Guidetti = 6.

A top class CB, RB cover if Micah goes...but I think he will stay...I'd probably stick with Kolorov and Clichy for another season...

That leaves the conundrum which is Dzeko. Personally, I'd get rid and hope to get £25m for him.....and then look at another top class striker....i think he will give Jovetic another season, otherwise we could be on the look out for 2 strikers, with Guidetti possibly filling one of the spots.

We'd be looking at spending another £70m+ come the summer, even after off-loading 3-5 players.

I'm not sure what other English talent is out there, that clubs would sell them to us....of course we have the likes of Lopes to join the 1st team squad, but he's only 19.

MP has some difficult decisions to make over the next few months.

I don't think we'd get £25M for Dzeko. Isn't he going to be i the last year of his contract next season?

Lallana and Shaw, at this moment in time do any of you honestly think (hand on heart) we're going to get either of them....well i don't.......but who else is there?

I'd take 25 quid for Dzeko and Demichellis put together.....never mind £25m   .

I know a mass clearout isn't gonna happen, but we really do need atleast 4 new players over the summer.....but with the WC coming up, i can't see many deals being completed before it, so that's gonna be tricky to start with.

I'd honestly get rid of:
Dzeko
Demichellis
Richards
Jovetic
Clichy
Rodwell
Guidetti
Sinclair

That said, i think MP will only ship out Sinclair and anyone who we get an offer for.....any other departures have probably been documented.

You are a hard man Den, getting rid of all those players.

Some won't go due to their contracts (DM) and Jovetic has only just landed regardless of being a sicknote. Guidetti hasn't had his chance yet.

There are valid reasons though for getting rid of them all though Dawg....injury proneness, total shitness and never gonna make itness  .

Tbh, i missed out Boyata and Wright.....so add them to my list aswell   

Jovetic deserves another season, but Rodders has been here two seasons and hardly played. I thought we had the makings of a very good player when he played at the backend of last season, but he's been injured this season or just shit.

I want more English players. I'm not fussed about the home grown rules per se, I just want guys who will give their guts. I want that mentality.

I've seen some of the French mentality of laziness regardless of talent. You can get that everywhere, but I want players prepared to die to play for me. If we can get talented English players, we'll get the mentality needed to tough things out.

Chelsea have the mentality we need.

I want a few more English faces as well.

Still stunned by that shit yesterday...so nothing more to say.

I didn't watch it nor have I seen the highlights. I've got too much 'life' stuff to do than be depressed further.

This season City have played 44 games (not including pre-season) of which our new £22m man Jovetic has played a grand total of 11 games. Now maybe i'm getting paranoid and being a bit harsh on the lad, but in my head he's an injury prone has been that i think we should cash in on. I know MP isn't going to get rid of him anyway, i just hope he get's back to full fitness, scores bags of goals and proves me wrong.

We desperately need The Beast back firing on all cylinders....yesterday he touched the ball 17 times and not once in their box. That's sort of sums up how our MF's were supplying him.

Jovetic won't be sold...but Dzeko must be. Another terrible miss from 3 yrds...it's becoming his trademark...awful.

I'm not entirely sure that was all down to supply, Bluey.  I've seen him work a lot harder than that and yesterday was sort of typical of his performances since he got injured.  I was looking forward to seeing him and Serge together up front as they tend to make chances out of nothing, but instead we only got the nothing and it's almost as though Nedge has forgotten how to play.

In fact, thinking about it, Nedge and Garcia were both injured at the same time...  Has there been some sort of Face/Off thing happened?  Got to wonder...

Yeah, but there were so many little balls over the top that were nowhere near him..he was looking frustrated again like he was in the last League game....but saying that, he doesn't seem to making the runs he normally does.

Guess all players go through a dip in form....let's hope he recovers it in time for the run in..or against Barca.

Either or, mate.  Don't mind when he decides to wake up, as long as he does it soon, before we bollocks up our title chances along with the FA Cup.

I just hope MP has Dzeko stood 3 yrds from goal all week in training and players just keep passing across goal continuously in the hope he can score some of them!! Fucking diabolical again.
